Great review...just want to pt out the 235 is not a replacement of the 1M but your review is mostly comparing to your 1M, wait for the M2 and then compare to be fair

Imo 235 is a great DD and not a true track car

Sure, I say that at the end too. I was very curious to drive one so I shared my particular impressions with fellow enthusiasts, nothing more nothing less.

Fair enough...everyone is comparing the 235 with every other car out there and complaining about the M badges. All other msport lineups have the same M badges but goes unnotice. For the price ($44k usd) this is the best you can get imo.

Enjoy the 1M is one special car

great write up ozinaldo. I had an A45 Edition 1 which I found way too stiff for the bumpy road in Hong Kong. I have never driven an 1M before but sounds like it is more similar to the A45, so I hope the m235 will be a good choice for me.

I would die within a minute driving on the other side of the road in Hong Kong. I used to almost get run over walking out of the hotel in Kowloon and looking the wrong way. The traffic is so bad I don't see how you can drive over 30 there.

There is no competition in suspension complience of these two cars; 1M and M235i. 1M is very single minded, M235i seems to be ready for every kind of road but the downside is when everything is good and fast 1M dives and reacts as good if not better (again predictability of a good fixed suspension) but only on that occasion. All the other times M235i will make a better daily driver solely because of its superiority in suspension. In your case, I believe that it is a promising choice.
