Make sure you reset the mpg, I was at 21mpg (all hwy 1100 miles) then I reset it and now I am getting somewhere about 25 (admittedly, a lot of eco miles in there) <ashamed> but I drive 40 miles in my vert to work and 40 back daily. I think there is a lot of run time before/at the dealer. Dealer said I would get 28-31 in eco hwy... I guess if I only drove 65 it would help....

i get exactly 250 miles per tank of gas and usually fill up when it says i have 25 miles left at that point. so 265 miles per tank maybe 300 if you drive easy. i blast around town in sport mode most of the time tho never messed with eco mode yet.

"Mileage Keeper." I like it better than the fuelly app because of its simplicity. Unfortunately it doesn't upload to a site like fuelly so others can't see.

Coo, that sounds better than what all these Yanks are getting. I'll need to buy some of these imperial gallons so as to get better mileage

Two 300-350 mile trips in the last week. I got 27.7 mpg on the first one and 29.1 mpg on the second one. Speeds were roughly the same anywhere between 75-80mph. Seems like my mileage is slowly improving still. :-D

What's so fascinating about all of these to this old fart is that we are talking (the 235) about a car that will do sub-5's to 60 and a 13.0 1/4 mile.
Not too many years ago, the 228's times would smoke some of the hottest cars around and their fuel use was closer to gallons per mile than miles per gallon. My last Bimmer prior to the M235 I got last week was a 2011 535 with essentially the same engine, just 300/300 as opposed to 320/330. On one 150 mile trip running around 75 I got 34 mpg; this from a 2-ton car that could do 60 in the mid-5's with all the tech stuff and conveniences. My first Bimmer was an '85 535, with a beautiful 3.5L straight 6 (5MT); power was in the 180hp range and mpgs on the highway just cracked 20. Some things really are better! I'm getting 9.1L/100 or ~31 MPG (imperial), roughly 26? us mpg.
85% hwy at 70mph, 15% city. I do drive it hard when I can. |

Mostly City driving and Canyon Hooning so I'm lucky to get 18 to 20 mpg. I guess I drive it like I stole it. 68 years young.

I can't break 19.2mpg for the life of me. I do about 70% back road and "try" to keep it at 65 in Eco pro on highway. My wife's 2015 328 wagon is only getting 20.5mpg 95% back roads. Maybe we both just drive like we stole it...

228 auto, majority of driving in comfort mode but I don't "baby" the gas peddle, 3200 miles on the car. I'm getting about 22.5 MPG in mixed driving. I'm OK with that but the frequent gas station stops because of the small tank are annoying. If a car is going to get low 20's mpg, it needs more than a 13 gallon tank.

m235 - 90% stop and go traffic with hills yielding 14mpg with a light foot in Comfort mode. 12mpg driving manually in Sport mode. I had my cars first service recently and mentioned the dreadful mileage. They checked everything and said they couldn't find anything wrong.
I mean 14 mpg city compared to the EPA estimate of 22 seems really off. |

Just got back from a road trip about a week and a half ago and I achieved 32mpg+ between fill ups. Got just 306.3 miles on 9.361 gallons. This included 98% highway and a short trip to work and the dentist office before filling up. I had the cruise control set at 75mph for most of the trip except when I ran into some bad rain forcing me to slow to about 60-65mph but this only lasted 10-15 minutes.
