Repairing This Dent

Hi Everyone,

Just wondering if anyone has repair dents themselves or have experiences with it? I'd like to know how I can get this dent on my rear quarter panel repaired without going to a paintless dent repair... They want to charge me $450 to get this taken care of, which is just too much...

Can I take off the fender lining of my rear wheel and hammer it out from the inside?

The dent is on the top left hand side.

You are going to end up screwing it more than what it is already.

You need special tools it's not just start hammering

You should not hammer it yourself. Yelp some PDR mobile people around your area. It should be around $100 or so

This is something for a professional. Hammering it out will likely stretch out the metal and there's NO going back from that. Either live with it or spend the money for PDR.

He isn't talking about the scrape on the plastic bumper cover. There is a crease on the quarter panel

Ah, okay. i couldn't stop looking at the obvious exposed plastic. I'd get both professionally repaired.

I would not try this yourself... You could damage it beyond an easy/moderate repair.. I have learned after much modding and DIY's that certain things are better left to professionals... This is prob one of them

Clearly that dent induces drag thus putting additional load on the engine.

I wouldnt touch it with a hammer. Sometimes using a hairdryer to get the area hot and then freezing it quickly with spray works. Check it out on youtube.

Risking messing up your 50k car over $500 sounds pretty silly to me.
