Failed emissions? Wtf

I just failed emissions cause my car wasn't in ready state? I only have a jb4 I turned it to map 0 before the test. It's the new one with the obd plug. Was I supposed to unplug it? I was told by bms to turn it to map 0 when I asked about it before I made the purchase. I'm in pa. Anyone have this happen to them? only has 6,000 miles

No just put it on map0 when I got there. When you change maps does it have to cycle the sensors ?

Perhaps the auto clear function was on before you switched to map 0. If that's the case you'll have to drive around 50miles on map 0 before the status will change to ready.

Yes, as he said, if you have anything resetting the codes your car won't be on ready state... and they won't even be able to run the test

Why do you even have do do emissions in a new car?

In NY you need like 6 of the 9 systems ready, basically they do not want people clearing the ecu and getting passed. All cars get tested. I wish we had inspection here in Fl, most cars are junk.

Every year you have emissions and visual inspection in pa. You can get an exemption if you drive under 5,000 miles a year. I passed now. When I switched to map 0 it reset everything so I had to do a drive cycle to get everything back in ready state. Just put my downpipe on last night😎

To bad jb4 is not at volkswagon levels of programming, then you would not even have to put back in the cat.

You probably reset the codes before doing the emission test

I would just remove the JB4 all together to be 100% safe
