But all people remember was the dominant steamroller that was Shaq and Kobe. Swept every series in the playoffs, except game 1 of finals.

Iverson's single shining moment was game 1 of the finals, hitting the key 3 pointer over Tyron Lue and then stepping over him.

You see, Curry's and Warrior's performance will be relegated into history just like Iverson's..

Iverson probably had more talent than Curry. Rondo perhaps too.
But what don't they have?

Iverson yes, Rondo no, at least ill give curry that much
Iverson had way more heart , he didn't shy away from contact and disappear in big games. His team was not good enough to take down Shaq/KoME
Shame Iverson never got a ring.

if you're implying about a NBA Championship...I'm pretty sure Rondo's got one of these...

Talent is plentiful, unfulfilled talent, just as much.
Iverson wasn't as problematic as Rondo, but these two are prob the best 6'0 PGs ever.. Iverson had a dourness, not sure how to describe it, but you could never really envisage him with a ring, he could never make it to the final goal, there was something inside him stopping him.
Rondo was just batshit crazy. He didn't want to play ball more than picking fights.

that's ironic, he probably needed the opposite - tranquilizers, not more redbull

Isiah Thomas was barely 6'1 listed height, and I'm sure he would disagree with you about your statement. Oh and there's this dude named Stockton who was pretty good as well.

So the guy who's sole job is to get assists as a POINT GUARD, being the ALL time leader in that category, likely never to be broken (15,806), you would not put ahead of AI or RONDO???

no, i didn't say they were better than stockton, i was talking about TALENT.. what they actually did in the end with it is a different matter
sure stockton prob achieved more.. so it depends what you're talking about when you say "best"

DeAngelo Russell has that potential.

yeah im just messing with you

But yes Stockton was not very athletic nor was he a jumper/super fast
What he did have, which few nba PGs have today was IQ, toughness and, quite frankly he was dirty
he was also very strong for his size and would not hesitate to elbow, body slam or even punch you in the face if given the opportunity
it was a different league back then
I do miss the fights

strong? wtf? i didn't see that..

he and Hornacek were the shit.. like ppl nowadays would laugh or wonder how that could ever be. like two fortune 500 execs /preachers .. n they would have to COMB their hair - how did it never get messed up?
Ppl give you nose bleeds when you drive into the lane now, they would have to bring hair gel and comb their hair after every play

Anyone who hates on James at this point has their vision clouded by other concerns not related to his talents and accomplishments as a basketball player. The all around stats he put up in this series are mind blowing, and he did it with the pressure of the world on his shoulders.

He's absolutely incredible.
Very insightful comment IMO.

The one point I'll make in response - generations love to claim their stars as the GOAT.

I have watched college and the NBA from a very early age, and have had the opportunity to see some of the greatest players in their prime, and then watch their decline and the transition to the next generation.

James is great - no doubt, but the comparisons to Jordan and others will never stop unless he gets 7 rings.

I'm challenging your comment that Curry is a one trick pony and this is all you've got? You are surely better than that. Please enlighten us all on how Curry can be a one trick pony and only shoot shoot shoot and also have the most steals (by the way that's a defensive stat) of any player on any team in the NBA this season.

And the real MVP is James for the finals and Curry for the regular season. Your choice might be different but that is indisputable (except by you) fact.

That is all.
He is a one trick pony. His trick is, he doesn't show up when his team needs him. Where was his all finals?!
http://hoopshype.com/2016/06/20/from...ats-plummeted/

B/c years from now, no one would talk about the 73 win season. Everyone will be talking about how LeBron OWNED the finals.

Just like no one talks about the Patriot's 16-0 regular season, but everyone talks about David Tyree's catch. Funny how result actually matter, not stats.
It ain't about getting wins.....

It's about getting rings....

true...

but you have to sometimes remember, some players weren't always blessed with a core team to win the rings.

Wait a minute....

Ron Harper, Jon Paxton, Steve Kerr, Horace Grant, Luc Longley, Dennis Rodman, Scott Williams, Stacey King, Toni Kukoc, Will Perdue.....etc

Jordan and Pippen.

The Bulls were a plug and play team around Jordan and Pippen, but I'd hardly call the teams that won championships 'blessed' with talent.
