5 days in and already in for service ????

I have officially had my M235 for 5 days less than 500 miles and it already needs to go in for service. First ever BMW and already a very bad impression. AC is not working yet it worked great everyday and this morning. I checked the fuses all is good.

I can beat that in miles and time, I got a check engine light at 200 miles on my first day of ownership. Ended up being a fuel tank vent valve.

Stuff happens.

I recall reading about a similar A/C not working on these forums and it was an easy fix, might have been low freon from factory.
But I couldn't find post through the SEARCH function.

Don't worry if your BMW is at the dealer for more than 24 hours, they must give you a loaner car. If they don't have one available, they have to rent a loaner for you.

Nah, I can beat that. Low pressure fuel pump hose disconnected on my 335 on the way home from the dealer after redelivery from our ED trip. 35 minutes after leaving the dealership, I was on the side of Rt 495 in the rain surrounded by a growing puddle of gasoline.

Yeah I searched using the tool too and only found old threads with different models. I went to BMW and they want me to drop off tomorrow night. They have 24hr service. Three shifts of 8 hours each which is really awesome. I'll report back with findings. P.S heat stopped working too.

Is that a BMWNA policy? When I was waiting for my car I overheard the receptionist tell someone over the phone that all their loaner cars were checked out and that the person will need a ride. Perhaps they just wanted one while they had their oil changed or something I can't say.

They should always be willing to rent a car for you if they are out of loaners. Mine had no loaners for 2 weeks for some sort of inventory thing.

Loaners are always a "courtesy" but a good dealer will rent you a car. Mine has Hertz rentals on site. They couldn't give me a BMW once, so they gave me a mustang...

Luck of the draw. My E90 335i was in the shop for everything so I expected the same from the 235.

I am at 30k miles now and so far not a single non-maintenance issue. I have been very impressed given my previous experience. I also track my car a few times a year and not a single problem.

Yes, that is BMWNA policy, they must give you a vehicle if warranty repairs last over 24 hours.

Well I dropped if off last night. They were reluctant to give me a loaner until I spoke with a manager and explained everything. He handed me the keys to a brand new (13miles) X5 Hybrid. The service department here in Hawaii works 24hours a day so I woke up to a message that my car was fixed. The spend 4 hours trying to figure it out but it came done to a push pin behind the controls from the factory was not pushed in all the way and finally just came unhooked. So easy fix. Will be picking back up tonight.

I had one minor issue with our 228i. At around 3500 mile, the oxygen sensor failed. Took it in and it was fixed under one hour. No other problems.

I'm heading to Honolulu tomorrow!

Sorry for your luck. I've had mine for 16 months and I have never been back to the dealer for anything.
