I would have fallen into that trap a month ago. Cars now are all so powerful. Things very quickly get into well above 100. Im guilty of traveling at high rates of speed in the left lane, but now when someone wants to play I just let them go. It escalates quickly and its just not worth the pissing contest.

If you're driving slow as sh!t in the left lane (slow here is relative, meaning if someone is coming up on your six then you're too slow for the left lane) then you deserve to be tailgated, flashed, honked at, ran over, etc.
In Texas, our highways have signs that say "left lane for passing only". I have seen cops pull over someone in the left lane with nobody else around just because they violated that. |

Not surprised really. 228 might have decent figures on paper, but as some have mentioned lack of top end and basically peak power is in a small range.

On another note, the other new thing I learned is that people in the Northeast refer to the highway exits by the exit number, whereas I'm more used to referring to the name of the exit. |

"Fast lane" or "passing lane" both effectively mean the same thing. If someone comes up behind you going faster, you GTF out of the way.
*Specially* if there is room next to you, which there clearly was. |

Need NOS...j/k Good Call and outlook...! Reaction is Ego based. Much better off letting them go, cuz you'll end up passing them later as the story of the tortoise & hare always rings true. And Speed Kills. |

I am a believer that the fastest car in the left lane has right of way over anyone else. That being said, the only people who truly piss me off are the ones that pass at an absolute snails pace.

Haha thank god you guys don't live in Sweden, You would be so pissed of at the people in traffic, We got 50 mp/h on the Highway where i live such a shame and a maximum of 75 mp/h. And people tend to both take up the left lane and right lane there is no passing lane pretty much. Unless its 19.00 or 7 o clock in the evening when its empty on the roads.
People even tend to get pissed of when you pass them in the left lane mostly because you don't fall in line with everyone else xD. And when it comes to the BHP of the car i drive the M235i still stock and around as you know 320 bhp but that is a ridiculous amount when almost any damn car here has 300+ bhp. Every damn Volvo driver here in Sweden with Volvos between year 1980-1995 has 300bhp+ in them due to tuning parts for Volvo being very cheap here. So that thing with the "Hurt pride" i don't even bother to race anyone cause everyone sits with 300+ bhp so annoying that you have to have a freaking Tesla or a Lambo to beat someone here BMW parts are way to expensive still and tuning way to expensive also, The prices needs to go down soon otherwise it feels pointless. :-) I had the Volvo C30 T5 a while ago i think i paid a total of 3500€ to get it up to 350 bhp it was a killer i tell ya :-) So Volvos in Sweden are race machines of doom that hurts your pride constantly if you try to race them. So i just clap my self on the shoulder and say "Good you din't race that it din't make you look like a fool when getting bitch slapped by a Volvo 850 with 300 bhp + " Last edited by Nahlem; 09-10-2015 at 08:22 AM.. |
