California Manheim Auction Price M235i

Hi guys, not sure if this is the right place to post. Just wondering if there's anyone on the forum with Manheim access? Looking for the MMR price of:

2014-2015 M235i
<50,000 miles
w/ Premium pack
w/ Tech pack

thinking about finding an auction agent for a flat commission to bid the car at Manheim/Adesa/Autonation auctions for me. want to get a rough idea of the price i'm going to get on the car. any help is greatly appreciated!

I know a great guy with an awesome reputation.
He got me a good price on 2016 m235i with 4K miles. But for 2014 he found me a bunch around 29 (poor quality with high miles) to 34k (excellent condition with low miles). If you buy a 34k car. After auction fees, his fee, and California taxes it's about 40k.

Thanks for the info.

Couple more questions if you have the time:

Poor quality as in chips and dings or mechanical and performance issues? High miles meaning above 40k?

Does your guy charge a flat commission or % of the sale? How much is the commission? Did he show you the mechanical report and invoice from Manheim?

$40k for a low miles '14? That's crazy. I was shopping a couple of months ago and $35k would get a private party '15 or even '16 with sub-25k miles. My '15 with 16k miles with Dinan S1 package and lots of options was $35.5k. Even cars at dealers weren't that much more.

Sorry I meant 34.5k for 2016 with 4 k miles. But after taxes and all fees it was about 40k.

My guy charges 4% of the sale of the car (so I paid 1200 or so). Plus 1% auction fee plus shipping from wherever the auction is to ur zip code plus state tax.

Poor quality means lots of scratches. Prob some mechanical stuff too. But everything is listed (why it's considered poor quality). The score is out of 5. Mine was 4.9 because it had one door ding. A poor quality is like a 3-3.5 I think. My guy only finds cars that is above 4 (good quality).

Also he tells you the expected auction price and asks you how much you want him to bid the car to. If it goes above your asking price he stops and will find you a different car.

The first car we looked at was a 2014 with no nav but with other options on (heat, driver asssitance, premium). With some scratches. Black with red leather. That was supposed to be 31-32k dollars. The mileage was 18k. But when he went to go bid some guy nodded up to 33.5 so I lost that auction.

The second one was the 2016 I got. He told me it might bid up to 37k. But it was in near perfect condition and had almost all the packages, and only 3.8 k miles. So I told him I'm down with that. But for some reason no one bid him higher than 34.5. So I got a steal. U add his fees it's like 35.7k which is still not bad at all. And he does all the paperwork for u so u just sign it and u get the keys and off you go.

How much do you think you'd have paid for the same car privately and at the dealers?

Not sure. Back in February a 2014 was still going for 32-37 k depending on the condition and miles.
The dealers have it above 40k. With haggling I'm sure u can get it below 40.

It's the California tax that sucks. That added 3.4k ish to the final cost.

Do you guys only shop locally? I did a search on Listingallcars.com for 235, less than $35k, less than 30k miles. Excluding the accident damage cars I still got over 25 hits. Got to travel got get a deal sometimes.
