Nice color, but I still don't like the shape of the car. I liked the overall shape and design of the 1-Series better.

I suppose its for better air flow in hotter climates.
IF the car model is a N55 then you do not get fog lights. Only for the lesser models (116i/118i/125i/118d/120d) with M-Sport do you get fog lights. It's not a US thing but rather a BMW thing.

Now to totally confuse you... sometimes on early pre production models, BMW will build the early cars WITH fog lights!

Meh I'm stoked about the 228i but I feel like the rear lights just aren't keeping the aggressive/sportiness like the front does. Then again I'm sure when I see this in person I'll have a different outlook.

In another thread we've discussed this topic. The general consensus is that US versions of the 2 series will not have the horizontal trim pieces ("air blades") in the front air dams. This is because of BMW's traditional practice of building warmer climate versions of their cars, which I guess it considers the US to fall under.

More detail: If you look closely at most pictures, the versions with the trim piece don't have pass-through holes in most of the mesh behind the trim piece -- it's just one plastic piece without holes and just the look of mesh. In the versions without the trim pieces, it looks like the air dam is functioning because there truly are holes that go through the dam. This lends credibility to the theory that the ones without the air blades are for warmer climates.

I agree. I think that the 228i will have to be way cheaper than the 428i for me to consider. However, I haven't given up on the m235i. I'm disappointed with the rear end as well. I'm also disappointed in the way the car looks vs. the airbrushed pictures. It doesn't seem as aggressive to me. 428i EBII is gorgeous, especially with diffusers, black grille, etc.

No Doubt you'll be seeing a lot of the the 2ers in EBII. I think Carbon Black would be a good choice if they decided to add it like they did on the 135's. This and the 4 look great in metallic colors.

Great find OP.

Stunning color. I would debadge, black grilles, change the wheels for some dark 19" multi-spokes and call it a day.

Blizzaks are what you need my man. I have used them on both of my E92s and both my E82s.

I like this color, but the wheels look uglier for some reason...
+1

Absolutely blizzaks are amazing! Been running them on my 135i past couple winters. Took it up to Vermont for a couple ski trips and no problems at all. It was a beast and so much fun. Did rack up a speeding ticket tho.

Definitely better than the only blue option I've seen for the M4.
