With the front wheel off, and the bike put in rear wheel first, drive side up, and bars turned 90 degrees, my 29'er trek hardtail fits just fine.

Haa...I used to have to take out the spare tire to fit 2 sets of golf clubs in the trunk. Totally impractical car. DAT VTEC THO!

Normal bike fits in the convertible, both wheels off, seat down.

I used to fit a mountain bike in an SLK trunk, wheels in first, then the frame goes on top where the top stores.
