Specced out a Q5 and it looks really good! $53.3k the 3.0 Premium Plus and everything I would need. Surprisingly much cheaper than I had thought. Those that have the Q5, do you find 2.0 adequate or did you go with 3.0?

I haven't had one since 2003. I don't keep my cars past warranty with very rare exception so honestly not a huge concern for me. The C43 is a rebranded C450 so it's not like a brand new thing is really worry about too much.

We went with the supercharged 3.0T in our Q5. It's quick and is a well rated and reliable motor. Never really considered the 2.0T.

Had a 2.0T and it was more than enough power. Traded it in for a MB 300d which blows the Q5 away. The torque is amazing and the mpg is 39 on the HWY. There is a new Q5 coming out soon. That should be an interesting option.

We've done a number 360 mile round trips to visit our son since owning it and can say it is a pleasure on the highway. Very compliant yet handles well and like I said, enough power for highway passing. The only thing I find that leaves something to be desired in that car (or any Audi with it installed) is the MMI system. But, I'm spoiled by an iDrive 5.0 system in the M240i. The Audi system doesn't compare in use-ability, speed, intuitiveness or graphics quality. I'm sure the virtual cockpit coming in the 2018 MY Q5 will be nice if they get all the bugs worked out plus you would get a bigger motor I believe. Good luck with your decision!

If your looking to buy a house and save as much as possible, I'd pick option 1. What's the residual left after your lease? I read this can be negotiated as well with BMWFS for a slightly lower amount if you decide to purchase. Also, if your still undecided I believe you can extend your lease a couple of months. I'd call BMWFS for end of lease options.

I believe residual is about $30k. I'm sure dealer can buy it for low 20's. I'm hoping, if I were to buy it out, that I can get it for around mid 20's. I have only done a lease buyout once before with a 335. Similar MSRP as the M235. Residual was around 30k and they offered me something like $26.5k plus tax without much negotiation. |

It was by the dealer where I leased the car from. I just said I would like to buy it out and how much could he offer me. I wanted to be at $25k but he wouldn't go lower than $26.5k. Led me to believe that their buyout price is probably somewhere between $24-25k if not lower.

Talked to my dealer and residual is about $30k. As it stands they can do about $29k + tax; $3-4k higher than what I was expecting. Hmm...
