Has anyone done this update to his/her 2er?

I didnt use the Posi-taps when my JB4 was installed. Soldered the wires instead...

Hindsight.

Unfortunately this is nothing new fellas! I have been running this setup almost a year now and it has been flawless. Very easy to do as well, if you have your connection via positap all you do is remove them and then positap those wires to the OBDII harness and then run it through your driver side foot well and plug right in

You can positap canbus wires to the back of OBDII port

I believe I've read all updated jb4 firmware will only be for OBDii going forward.

So you need to DL special firmware before making the switch from positap to OBDII?

Or, will the current firmware work?

If you change canbus from positap to obd2 then DL obd2 FW once you have completed the install
