Alright , now you made me look , and , No weatherstrip on either side . So I went to visit my local dealer and they had both of them in stock . No problem installing them at all.
I was getting dirty road water coming out of that front door gap causing the doors to get dirty way before the rest of the car |

June 2016 build, no weather stripping here. Do I really want one...?

It's so inexpensive, cost is not the factor. The answer depends....do you like more tire/road noise or less? The parts make an obvious difference.

Yes. That's the real concern is whether or not it is noticeable noise. Right now it doesn't seem like tire and road noise is loud at all... But if it can quiet down the cabin even more than it is, would be better I guess

Yes, it is quieter with the seals, both for wind and tire noise. As was mentioned earlier in the thread, it also keeps dirt from collecting around the inside of the door.

Yes. Answered in another thread but for those reading this thread, these are the correct numbers.

I probably spent 30 min on the install. I found dropping the piece down was easiest with the door partially open. Then I used different door positions to work it in with a ruler. I did a quick drive after. Less road noise and engine compartment noise. |

I just had these installed on a 2016 m235 convertible.
Honestly it's hard to notice a difference with the cabriolet but I would do it over again just for even a tiny noise reduction. |

Maybe the decision to delete the soundproofing was made by the same people who decided it was a good idea to introduce extraneous noise into the cabin via the ASD.
I can't decide whether that sentence was meant to be funny or not. |

The M240 probably comes with the insulation parts because it's timing chain is on the back of the motor (unpleasant engine noise; scary design feature too) rather than the front like on the M235. The non-6 cylinder cars get the insulation because they sound like freaking diesels on cold start and idle.

Anybody in Philly want to do me a solid and help me install these? Been trying way too long I know I'm just doing it wrong.

I wonder if they ran short, and decided to leave them off the performance cars and convertibles, thinking they were loud enough already that nobody would notice?

I've took the original posters pic, lightened up the shadows and made some other adjustments. Not a pretty pic (not much data to start with) but more functional as you can see better how it's supposed to look installed. Slide it in from the top with. The door half open gives you the biggest opening. Then I used a 6in wood ruler to work it in. Vary the door opening as you go along to best access the points you need to at the moment. Hope that helps. |

Thanks, guys. I got it in most of the way but trimmed the bottom section off. Not sure if vert vs coupe makes a difference but it was way too long. Mine is a vert so I don't expect much benefit anyway TBH.

Has any other Vert owners done this? I would tend to think that it won't make too much of a change.
