If my deductible is only $250 then I might as well go through insurance, assuming a PDR will be $100 + the cost to have the damaged paint fixed (if possible at all without going to a body shop). But then again it sounds too good to be true... |

If it was just the ding, I'd most likely just leave it. But the paint damage just highlights the ding and screams look at me. I don't understand how a door can leave marks like that. It seems that something with a more rough edge hit the car. |

But regardless, it's not worth filing a claim over this. |

Again... You are WRONG, since. like capitalizing things. There is no requirement that something is airborne for it to be an uninsured motorist claim.
That is completely absurd. Comprehensive claims are from baseball bats, vandalism and things of that such, again that is not a collision claim either, it is a comprehensive claim. Collision claims are when you know who is at fault. Uninsured motorist claims are from hit and runs, as well as many other reasons. I've been trying to be nice but clearly you're not getting the point. I am not sort of right I am 100% without a doubt black-and-white right. Take care. |

Sorry, Fletch. You're not as 100% right as you say.

I did say. Twice... Varies from state to state.
The real issue was not wether it was allowed per state... Although... I should have followed up more (east coast here). I take that one. But... The issue with the other cat, was what IS UM, and the differences in the TYPES of coverage. However... Being he is in CA... That is an issue. For the overwhelming majority of the rest of us... All still applies... My concern was, people sometimes think it's more difficult to get things repaired... And not worth the hassle. No reason, usually to have a brand new car... And have a dent piss you off forever. |

"Collision claims are when you know who is at fault." Chill out - you're not the expert you claim to be and this statement certainly proves it. |
