Logo projection is sooooooo rice. It's one thing if it projected "BMW" in their typeface but the whole logo and that big? LOL only a matter of time until this is available on Audi's and Mercedes as a trend...

I'd have to agree it's up there with the best looking.

Let's hope:
a) it doesn't weigh as much as a barge
b) it's stiff enough to handle like the coupe

Very nice, but what's up with the colour of the side mirrors on the 228i.
On some of the pics they're black regardless of body colour and others they're the same as body colour.

It's in the press kit specs and on the BMW international website, Bimmerpost just didn't post them yet.

EU Weights in - kg's (inc 75kg Driver/Luggage, 90% Tank)

220i: 1585
228i: 1610
M235i: 1675
220d: 1610

Compared to:

E88 120i: 1505 (-80 kg)
E88 125i: 1585 (~25 kg)
E88 135i: 1665 (-10 kg)

F22 220i: 1425 (-160 kg)
F22 228i: 1460 (-150 kg)
F22 M235i: 1530 (-145kg)
F22 220d: 1450 (-160 kg)

So yes... it's a bit of a porker.. But still nothing like the 253kg penalty for buying an M4 'vert over the M4 Coupe! and still a good 140-150 kg lighter than an F33.

Logo projection?!
Not for me!

Cool, that they have chosen "The black diamond" as a background for grey 228i. It is the royal library in Denmark's capital, Copenhagen.

Doubt, however, how many 2-series convertibles we get to see in Denmark - thanks to our insane tax system.

I thought bmw's n1 strategy was for lighter cars...

From what SCOTT says, I don't think that really comes in to play until the G series models start to hit.. besides, the n1 priority for convertible drivers isn't driving dynamics, it's the open top experience (being a douche as I call it! ).

As with the M235 coupe and 228i, the 228i's wheel options are better.

I hope BMW puts something nice on the M2...

The idea of illuminating the area you're going to step to get into the car is good, specially for women wearing high heels, you'd be surprised how many injuries and accidents it can prevent night time. But with the logo?..... I don't like it.

It would actually be fun (silly still) if you could change it to project the batman signal. Sadly probably the only option available could be to pay 2,000 to change the projection for a M badge as an M Preformance option.
