Can you retrofit/add anti-dazzle mirrors later?

Curious as those are really the only things I'd find useful from the premium package. I know it isn't much if you already get leather in the car but I actually kind of wanted sensatec. My brother has it in his x3 and I really like it. It always felt like it stayed cooler and seemed more durable than actual leather so getting the premium package just doesn't seem worth it.

Wish you could do a standalone option of the comfort access but oh well, could live without it if a retrofit for the mirrors is possible/more cost efficient then just getting the package.

EDIT: Maybe his car doesn't have sensatec... He has an 05 x3 and it is definitely not leather, like a vinyl fabric I've never seen in another car and I don't know if that is something else entirely. Is that what sensatec is? You can clearly see weaving in his fibrous interior.

Not sure... but since this is a "mirror thread"...

Are the mirrors power folding?

Yep, they are! The button to fold them is visible on the photos from the Las Vegas driving event. But more than likely the auto folding feature will not be standard, it will have to be coded by someone after delivery.

Yeah, Sensatec is BMW's word for vinyl. Sorry, but I have no idea what the material in an 05 X3 would be. I'd swing by a dealer and see if they have a current model with Sensatec. It'll be the same material that they use in the 3-series and X3, so you can see what the current material is like.

I don't know if this is the case with the M235i, but you'll want to inquire about it specifically. Sometimes, when you specify Sensatec, you get a different seat than the leather seats. Again, I don't know if this is the case with the M235i, but in some BMWs, getting Sensatec means you don't get the slide-out panel that supports your thighs. BMW calls these the "sport" seats, so you'll want to check in to that.

It is really obnoxious that the auto-dimming stuff isn't available as a separate option. $2,300 is a lot of money to pay if you don't want leather. However, if the Sensatec seats are not the "sport" seats, you'll want to pay for that upgrade anyway. The sport seats are way better.

I'm pretty sure the seats are the sam, in which case I guess if I order an M235 I'll be learning to drive before it's dark

kadify, here is a cool thing i found.
firstly, I agree that I find very little value in the premium package other than the auto dimming mirrors, especially now that all bmws come with comfort go now, so comfort access is starting to become less valuable as all it really does is allow access from the outside (let's be honest, hitting a button on a keyless entry isn't that big of a deal) I almost kind of like it as your car lights up for you across the parking lot, etc, and a bit less extra electrical nuance on the car. you still have all of the "comfort access" functionality as far as starting the motor when in the car with key in pocket, standard anyway.

The standalone option for auto dim does not exist but what is awesome is if you check auto headlights for $250, it includes auto dimming rear view mirror for $0! I do not know if this includes side mirrors, it does say "mirror" so assuming just the center, but at least the center mirror, I mean for $250, pretty good deal. Much better than all the useless stuff in premium in my opinion.

My configuration is shown below.

I was just building one and saw that! That might be the perfect option then. Though it is weird that its a no cost option if you get the automatic high beams.
