In the end, it all comes down to what is more fun. I think they're a toss up with a slight preference towards the 228 track manual. You're not going to see manuals hold a high resale value at like carmax or as a trade-in. But if you list one for sale on the forums, it'll sell quick at or above book value. I sold both my Z4M Coupe and e92 M3 on bimmerpost and they both sold within one week of listing them for asking price which was above book value. This is definitely the place to buy and sell enthusiast-grade cars.

Interesting, on my Porsche 991, the manual gained me 1 residual point.
I ordered my m235i with manual sunroof delete. I think the resale will be higher if you sell private party and are not in a rush. Fewer people want the manual, which makes it rare, which in turn for people who want the manual makes it worth more. If your going to trade it in, probably a wash. |
