TMPS malfunction after winter?
Hopefully, someone can help.
I put on the winters this weekend for the first time on this car and tried to do the usual TPMS reset procedure afterwards, except this time around, it doesn't reset and instead it gives a TPMS malfunction message. Is there something I'm missing or doing wrong? I had the tire place look at it as well and they are able to detect and read all 4 of the winter sensors using their tool so I doubt its the sensor issue. Is this something I need to bring into the dealer for? Thanks! |

As far as I know, they're 2015s, the car's also a 2015 model. The tire shops reader dialled in the year, make, and model on their reader to test and they were able to get a reading.
Does the change now mean I have to put completely new TPMS's in? |

Are these separate winter wheels, tires, and TPMS or are you putting tires on OEM wheels with original TPMS? If not the original TPMS, are the sensors brand new this year or used previously?

In 2014, there was a BMW part number error for TPMS sensors. When I bought my snows, I bought new TPMS from a BMW on line dealer. They did not work. The local dealer found the incompatibility and BMW paid them to replace my 4 sensors.

TPMSs changed in early 2014. You may have the wrong TPMSs for your car.
