It's a rare species in South Africa too. I've seen about 4 (one of them being a black on black M235i) in the time since it's been launched. I've actually seen more 335i GTs lol.

I've seen 1 M235i and about 3-228i in the Los Angeles area (Burbank).
FWIW…when I went the Century West BMW dealership nearby for some service a few month's ago, all the guys in the service area were jazzed with my car, because they'd only seen 1 or 2 in the showroom and they were eager to hear how it drives from someone who's spent some time in one. They were asking all kinds of questions. |

Spotted! Long Beach, CA rolling along on the freeway black w/red interior 235.
Only have seen one other 2, a 228 at the local gym. For as much as I am out and about in the general LA/Orange County area...just don't see them. |

I just move and an EB M235i equipped identical to mine is parked 3 blocks away. It is interesting because it is the car I test drove before I bought mine.

Funny thing happened to me this weekend. I have only ever seen 1 other M235i in person(happens to be my officemates). I was driving back from Tahoe and saw another MW 235i with black kidneys, my twin! They must've been in as much shock as I was as they started taking pics when I got closer.

Yep, that were me. I work on the corner of Pass & Alameda, about 1/4 mile from where we saw each other. Mine's a stock EB but with an M Performance exhaust. Got it from Greg at Pacific BMW. What a blast it was seeing my "twin" in the wild like that. |

I'm in Burbank with an EB too. Haven't seen any other EBs in Burbank. Seen one in Santa Monica and an MG one on the 405 (gave me a thumbs up when passing by in traffic)

Can't wait to have my Melbourne Red back. Hoping to have it first week of December so I can paint the town red.
I've seen EB, AW, MW, MG, and BSM in the wild... but no MR yet... |

I caught a BSM 228i in a parking garage in Philly. I saw an EB M235i with Jersey plates in August parked on the street.
I do like having an somewhat unique car, particularly when I pull up to yet another bare bones 328... |

I see a 228 xdrive everyday parked in my offices parking lot. The girl got it about a month ago and I know a few dealers have them sitting around on the showroom floor. Other then her car I've only seen two others 2's.

Other than mine, I have seen two: one parked in an apartment complex near me and I saw a 228 on the road about a month ago. I have never seen a M235 in the wild. Neither before nor after I ordered my 228i, have I ever seen a Valencia Orange anywhere. Just mine, which is fine by me.

I don't think I've seen any in my adopted homeland of the Detroit metro. I pick mine up in a few weeks. On a somewhat related note, the 1 series is quite rare here as well. Back in my native land of the San Francisco Bay Area they are more common but not all that much.

I think the only other 2 series (other than a Mineral Grey M235i my dealership has) other than spotting a white (Alpine I believe) 228i around here on three occasions, and I have good reason to believe its the same car. I might have seen a mineral grey 228i, but it was out the corner of my eye so I can't be sure. I get a little bit excited every time I see another new Estoril Blue BMW around here, but every time its turned out to be a M-Sport 3 or 4 series.
I'm a little bit surprised since this area (northern NJ right outside NYC) is teeming with tons of BMW/MB/Audi (enough that you will see at least 10 of each on a 5 minute drive), as well as the fact that I would see a good number of 1 series. I like that its a rare car, but it would be nice to run into one every so often and have someone to talk to in person if the owner is around. |
