LED Tails

Are the 228i tails LED? Some of the pictures I have seen appear to be incandescent bulbs.

They are incandescent bulbs... Leds are normally for the facelifts in BMW... They have leds since the e46 facelift, but instead of having continuity in the next 3 series model they do incandescent bulbs again which is a step backwards and reserve the leds for the facelift to make them look more modern... I like BMW for they cars they seem fine but they have a business scheme to take the most advantage from the customer as possible.

I was under the impression that the large field of uniform red was lit by LED, but all the rest are incandescent for sure.

Garage List
The "light bar" in the rear at night is LED. The brake and blinkers are incandescent.

Thanks. That is what I thought looking at pictures. But then when I saw one with blinkers on questioned myself.

I tried non-OEM LED tail lights on my E46... Never again! Pulled them out and replaced with OEM LED tail lights and they are very noticeably better in every way.

Problem is BMW doesn't have OEM tail lights for the M235i.
