I kept thinking I'd seen this design before:

And then realized where I'd seen it:

There is some similarity, but the Corvette valence appears to be a similar shade of shiny paint and has the reflectors mounted in a similar manner. It doesn't help that I hate the exhaust on both cars, especially the 2er, dual sided exhaust on I6's just makes my brain tired.

At least the ugly Corvette rear end is functional.

BMW perf CF rear valence will correct it.

This?

It's a little better, but because more is painted, it also make the whole area look taller and larger.

The Z4 pulls it off so well because the diffuser doesn't take up like 90% of the bumper like the 2er.

I somehow prefer the standard one over the Mperformance though because of the above reason. But this is one terribly lazy design!

LOL!! BMW over-did it with the 1 and was too conservative with the 3. This is definitely in between! But the giant diffuser just works on the F20 but not so with the F22.

The rear end design is part of BMW's "surface layering" design language. They didn't really copy anyone, because its roots come from the Vision EfficientDynamic (if not earlier). If anything, the GM was probably influence by it.

The diffuser on the 2 is very similar in design to the X1 diffuser, sorry no picture.

I've always thought the ZHP diffuser to be an understated yet tasteful design.

But the same could be said for the entire package.

I couldn't agree more. I also love the diffuser on the E90 LCI.

Agreed and the lights are a better size proportionally than the 2er.
