Just got back from the dealer today, yes, you can not install the sunroof, but comon give a little discount.

^This. A $1500 item deleted and no discount - the BMW marketing department clowns must be laughing their asses off at their own brilliance. At least here in Canada we don't get screwed over like that, the sunroof is not standard (and neither is the auto trans).

Neither are standard in the uk either but the spec we get is still more than the USA base spec!

They should give a carbon top option, now that I would give up the sunroof for.

I agree that a discount would be nice, but kudos to BMW for at least offering moonroof deletion. One thing that I hate about Audi is how they force a moonroof on everyone (with most of their cars).

That would be nice, but skipping the moonroof (even without a discount) is a good idea if you need a little extra headroom or want to save some weight at the top of the car or want to ensure no leaks, rattles, or intermittent operation over time.

Also makes the exterior of the car look nicer without moonroof (large block of non-matching color).
