Let's speculate on the GranCoupe variant....will it be able to haul adults in the rear?? Lol. This will be the deciding factor as to whether I can get a 2er over a 3er.

VERY nice. Nobody can touch BMW's effortless and timeless design strategy right now, IMO.

This is my new favorite BMW contemporary design. Looks better than anything in the BMW lineup (short of the M6 and M6 Gran Coupe).

Finally BMW does not ruin the design of a small car in order to favor the larger ones in sales. This looks better than the F30 3-series front-end by miles.

I wonder what will be the weight difference between this and the 3/4 series. If it's like 250lbs the M2 will be a legend .

Agreed. The front looks way better than the F30. Hopefully the M2 will be available once my current lease is up.

I'm highly anticipating the M2 now

The 2 series will become the new 3 series and will redefine the brand and become the momentum

Even an M235i w manual will be a blast and the GC version will depreciate the 3 saloons

Could be some excited times ahead - enjoy what you can while in control of the human machine interface; soon automation will rob us of tactility and haptics

Looks great. Te,putting to switch to from the f20 on release....A shooting brake version would be a splendid addition, but presume a bigger market for a four door and the x2 will accommodate those looking for greater practicality.

Patiently waiting for photoshop gurus to drop the car and throw some BBS or HRE's on there.

This is the M2 would compliment my E92 M3 very very nicely.

One thing to keep in mind here is that the telephoto lens used will "flatten out" the perspective and therefore makes the proportions look strange in some shots. Particularly, the front and rear quarter shots. In the front quarter shot, the front of the car looks very small and the back looks huge in comparison. That's just an illusion.

it literally looks like they took the E92 and updated it with a bit of the F30 bits

it even looks LOADS bigger than the outgoing coupe.

Using the 6-series Gran Coupe as a guide, I'd say it's going to be tight. The kind of car you can fit adults in the back of, but not somewhere you'd want to be for extended periods. Then again, I think we'll see the same of the 3-series, so it may be moot.

Yeah, I was thinking it would be pretty tight, but I don't plan on hauling adults regularly. I just want to know that I can accommodate, if the need arises. I used to have a Toyota Celica in college, and it was inconvenient that I could never give more than one person a ride at a time. Although it did come in handy when we were determining who had to drive us out to the bars! I'm excited to see the GranCoupe, though. I have been in the back of an e46 several times, (I'm 6'2") and found it to be manageable. However, when looking at the backseat of my e90, I can't really imagine getting a car with less rear legroom than that. My driver's seat almost touches the backseat as it is! The backseat of the f30 does seem to have a bit more room.

Only time will tell, I guess!

RIGHT ON. the fact the headlights do not tough the grill is a wonderful thing... as an E92 driver... this is looking quite good.... the F32 has proportionally nicer curves... but im dying to see these next to each other

I really like it. Please make an offset that can fit a large variety of aftermarket wheels and wide tires.

I've got a feeling that this car is going to be one of the most aggressive looking parts of BMW's lineup because of how large the inlets are on the front bumper in proportion to the total frontal area - just imagine seeing it in your rearview mirror as it sneaks up on you on the freeway... Would love to see an unobstructed front-view of this thing.
Agreed!

Also, hopefully this new steering wheel is not the only one that is offered - it is fairly "comfortable" in use but looks kinda "weird" and too "old-fashioned", regardless of the model... I prefer steering wheels with larger airbag area.

..I have that same opinion on the "Garmin" look... this philosophy (which I believe (IMHO) is a transition to a dock your iPad in dash future) looks poorly integrated...

No, that's speculation based on an incomplete listing of models someone was able to pull up. The person who uncovered those models even stated that there would likely be other models, they just hadn't found them in whatever database they were searching yet. The tester cars in some of the spy photos are 6MT, and I can't imagine BMW offering a manual on 3ers but not on the 2er, arguably the new "true enthusiast" car.

thank you ... I'm VERY desirous of a 6MT 6-cyl version of this. If I can get a NA engine (a stretch) even better
