Arrow BTG offers RingTaxi laps of the Nürburgring Nordschleife

Nürburgring - Nürburg, Germany
March 26th, 2015

Just in time for your ED spring/summer time plans...

Dale Lomas of BTG (www.bridgetogantry.com) has a new job, that of 'Ring Taxi driver(www.ringtaxi.de). Not THE BMW 'Ring Taxi... but of another company located at Nurburg who offer adrenalin junkies your 'Ring fix. Maybe know how BMW's Ring Taxi program is booked out months in advance. Its not easy to get a seat on one. Enter the private companies... like Ringtaxi.de you can just show up, and get a ride around the Nürburgring Nordschleife.

BTG to offer RingTaxi laps of the Nürburgring Nordschleife
http://bridgetogantry.com/2/index.ph...g-nordschleife

Here is what Dale wrote on his Blog today...

In a dramatic, exciting and ever-so-slightly terrifying twist to the BTG story, I'm delighted to announce that for the next couple of weeks I will be trialling a new partnership with RingTaxi. So not only can you contact me, book a ring taxi and enjoy the Nürburgring, but you'll also be driven by me. I'll even give you a free BTG sticker, just for booking with me.

First the details, and let's keep them brief.

This is commercial, it's a job, it's work. It might be considered by many 'Ring fans to be world's greatest job since Katy Perry employed a front-upper-body masseuse, but it's something I want to succeed in.
Unlike the BMW M Ring Taxi, we are in the Nordschleife carpark, ready to drive, every single time the track is open. No ticket lottery, no pre-booking 6 months in advance, no artifiicially low sales per day. We're in the business of customer satisfaction, not customer control!
If you want me as your driver, and you want that exclusive BTG sticker too, then you need to book through me directly!
But why should you book with us?

Three BRAND-NEW examples of the BEST cars ever to lap the 'ring with passengers aboard
Located directly at the Nordschleife entrance in the Ring Taxi office.
Local, skilled and responsible drivers (I have put my Nürburgring driving experience at the bottom of the page, if you really want to read it!)
Prices from €100 per person, (based on 3 people sharing the BMW M5 F10)
(You're supporting BridgeToGantry.com?)

Your 'Ring Taxi options:

I wonder how they managed to get such expensive cars from start. Lease or something? Certainly wouldn't buy one of these after all the track abuse.

I think these ring taxis are a very good idea since for someone it is more thrilling to have a proper ride with a professional driver than to drive own car and being scared for the first five laps...

Incidents at the 'Ring happen more than most people think. I'm sure they have these Ring Taxi's fully insured for on track stints.

A friend of mine took this pic yesterday behind one of the Ring rental companies. He called it the "hill of shame".

How is the traffic like on the ring? I know the turns from Forza but different when in a real car and wouldn't want to deal with severe traffic. I'd probably take it somewhat easy around corners but kill it on the straights at first and then get more comfortable after that.

It really depends on the day of the week AND the weather. IF its on a weekend and the weather is dry and sunny... expect huge crowds. The "little" parkplatz where the Ring Taxi's are gets closed off, then the two over flow parking lots get closed off... You are then talking about literally hundreds of cars waiting for the track to let them on/in. It can be crazy. Then it opens... and 15 minutes later someone crashes and the track closes for a few hours. This is Life at the 'Ring these days.

Going during the week is a better bet - I think. Mush less traffic/cars and mostly "local" track junkies showing up for a 'Ring fix.

A good friend of mine went to the Ring this last Sunday... he said there was no one there.... but it was cold and wet out. He wanted to "test" his VLN car's wet setup... so it was perfect conditions for him.

You're really asking the hard-hitting questions that everyone is doing backflips to find the answers to.
And thank god we know you are sane enough not to ever "buy one of these after all the track abuse". It's riveting that you let us know that, we were all on the edge of our seats.

This coming Friday is known as "Good Friday".

For 'Ring junkies, it is also known as: CarFreitag. You won't find me anywhere near the 'Ring for this circus show..

and sometimes the "redmist" gets the better judgment of drivers near the 'Ring...

Appreciate the inside track on the ring! I hope to make it over there this summer to see my sister in Basel and might just take a run up there during the week.

This is the way I'd do it. Let a pro handle it while not needing to worry about balling the car up and owing mega $$$$.

Anyone have a cost estimate to rent a car at the ring?

I personally wouldn't take my own car there anymore, but I did do 5 laps in a rented track prepped car (plenty of companies offer this service). I was going snail speed, but it was at least nice to experience the ring from the driver's perspective. It was definitely a big bucket list item of mine.
