I got the m performance exhaust installed at the dealer and now it should be completely broken in. I noticed a few times with full throttle that towards the higher rev range it has a distinct high pitch whistling noise, can anyone let me know if this is normal and what it is?

Pretty normal and I hear it on my MPE too. I've also heard it on a few MPE videos as well. I believe the reduced insulation of the MPE allows for some supersonic sounds generated by air blowing across the wastegate to be heard out back. It seems to be the most audible on warmer days. I definitely think it has to do with the wastegate being electronically manipulated in the upper rpms to maintain/taper boost.

A distinct whistle can also be from a boost leak.

I have a whistle with my MPE as well. Doesn't sound like a boost leak and I think it's normal

got it checked out at the dealer during my recent service. all is normal they claim as it is just standard turbo whistle. no leaks were detected.
