MPE Owners (Stock Diffuser Version): Tips Questions

For owners who have the MPE specific to the stock diffuser...

1. When re-using the stock tips, how much further do they stick out than on the stock exhaust?

2. Can the stock tips be further pushed back further or is there locating pin to stop it (like the stock exhaust).

3. I know the MPE chrome or carbon tips uses a screw type method, but can they be pushed back to be almost flushed with the stock diffuser?

Basically I'm trying to determine how much flexibility do I have to adjust the tips before buying the MPE. Ideally I'd like them just barely poking out beyond flush and not have a hot rod look.

Here is an image that might help give you a frame of reference. The left pipe is without the tip. So you'll know it will at the very least sit that far out. The right have the chrome tip, pushed back as far as it would allow.

just buy an ebay diffuser for a few hundred bucks and fix the problem. Its just as good as OEM.

If you can afford the MPE, you can afford to make it look right.

Ha! Great picture! Thank you, that helps a lot. I think I'll be fine and if I need more tuck, I'll find a way to modify the tips.

Simply take a pipe cutter to the muffler exhaust pipes and you can get the tip fitment you want. I ran the MPE with MPE tips and stock diffuser for about 1 year. I eventually got the MPE diffuser to help spruce up the rear. However when I did that, the MPE tips then sat a bit to far inside the diffuser. I simply pulled the tips out 3/8" and retightend. Looks perfect.

I initially did the same and they looked unfonished and ended up getting extender.

That's not entirely fair. I have the stock diffuser because I like the look - can obviously afford a new one but I simply don't like it.

There's something to be said for rolling stealth if that's your thing.

I agree. I too prefer the stock diffuser after seeing the MPE diffuser installed on a friends car.

Here's my MPE exhaust/stock diffuser/MPE tips.
The tips are adjustable but I prefer them tucked in. This is almost as far as they will adjust under the difusser.

It's not that loud especially when not driven aggressively and in comfort mode. I don't really go for the look at me flashy exterior options. Prefer a more refined timeless look.

Here's the MP rear diffuser with the MP exhaust and the tips pulled out about 3/8" rather than using the extender pipes.

Nope, not mine but I watched the clip & mine sounds very similar.
It sounds aggressive/exotic without being too load/annoying.
