M235i IS HARD TO PASS UP ON. But due to all the extra goodies, probably 335i. :/ IMO

What's making me hesitate?
1. M235i looks like it'll handle better, but how much better? Will it be noticeable on the street?
2. Acceleration 0-60. They are close, but with the tuned N55 in the M235i it edges it out. Not really too concerned about this as I am about handling and steering feel. But I want BMWs latest and greatest if you know what I mean.
3. Exhaust sound. Videos of the M235i using its launch control and taking off just sounds sweet. I haven't heard the 335i in person, but I also read that it sounds pretty nice.
4. M235i is the new, hot thing. I can get one for $500 over invoice, so I'll end up paying about $25 less than the 335i. BUT the 335i will be loaded to no end, as I'm getting that below invoice and there are tons of 3-series incentives piled on top of that.

What do you think? Should I go for the more spartan "drivers car," or get some of the performance with the 335i and enjoy all the refinement that goes with it.

Thanks!
Besides, 335i having 4 doors, I think it sounds like a great deal on a 335i

The acceleration from 0-60mph is probably the same and you won't know the difference in daily use. Unless you race from stop light to stop light , performance is negligible in daily use in my opinion. And where in public roads will you ever be able to actually use the performance potential of either 235 or 335? Unless you track your car, the 335i sounds like a great deal, loaded, you get extra 2 doors and similar performance

But in the end, choose what makes you happy and your needs. Can't go wrong with either one

M235i for sure!!!! The 335i is nice, but the M235i is brand-new and worth trying. I have a 135i and love it, cannot wait to get a M235i and kick it up a notch!

Haha thanks! I'm originally from California, but I've been an Alabamian for the last year and will be here for the next 5 months.

I pick up the 335i on Friday. Can't wait! Thanks for the feedback everyone. Hopefully this thread will help some other people make their decision if they're struggling between the two cars.

What if it was just decision between a used 335i and m135i?
Noise is the most important thing to me.. Do they sound similar or has the M performance car got trick exhaust or special engine note ?

M235 is a much more nimble and fun car than a 3/4 series.

When choosing between a coupe and sedan I'm always going to go with the coupe. That's assuming that my lifestyle doesn't dictate that I need the extra set of doors.

I heard bmw is developing a 2 series gran coupe. That would be cool. I hope it will have 3 seats on the back like the 428 gc

I need a 4 door car now but an F30 is just too big for me and not worth the money. I'll get something else for now and hold on while I can't afford having 2 cars.

M235 all the way! Ok I must admit I have one and love it.

Watch this and crank it up to listen to the M Performance exhaust and Launch Control

With the top down, my OEM exhaust sounds better than that - and that's without having to floor it.

I just came over from a f30 335i x drive to a m235i x drive. One thing I've noticed that is significantly different is the suspension and it's response to the road. Since the m235 is clearly a much smaller car, I'd say it's definitely more fun to take our sharp turns or just throw around. With the m235 being a tuned up version of the 335, the throttle response was noticeably quicker.

M235i xDrive. I've had it for a few weeks and just love it. Very nimble, quick and sounds wonderful. You cannot go wrong with one.
