vehicle tracking issues
I did European delivery for my vehicle, and I have been tracking my car's trip from Germany. Something funny has occurred with the tracking. The boat (UNDINE) arrived on 9/13, boat unloaded off the ship on 9/14. I called BMW on 9/15 and they said that the VPC order was placed.
I called BMW and my CA again today, and they both said that the ship arrived on 9/19 and that no VPC order has been placed. Can anyone shed some light on this? |

This probably doesn't help but my car that came in on Undine is at the dealer in Tucson.
What does https://www.2wglobal.com/webapps?url...uickSearchPage report on your car. Enter your complete vin in the cargo id box It may be caught up in customs if it is a European delivery vehicle? |

Glad yours is at the dealer!
Thanks for the advice. On that website it says: LINER RELEASE 21-10-2015 08:25:43 CUSTOMS RELEASE 21-10-2015 00:00:00 What does that mean? |

Your car is through customs which is good even though it took a week, and most likely at or through the vehicle distribution center and waiting for a ride to your dealer. Hopefully the guys at your BMW dealer will get a clue and help you out.
Hang in there |

Prob at Vdc for some repair, no worries it will be to you soon. Could be something small, did you have any euro damage? Mine was at Vdc for a few extra days for new tires.

It had a TINY scratch on the back bumper (noticed it after coming out after parking on the street). Would be really pleasantly surprised if they actually fixed that.
My CA here has been useless. He has not be responsive at all and was defensive in his email when I asked when it would be ready. Disappointed because he was extremely helpful and friendly before the deal and gave me a great price. |

I'm in the same boat - my ED car got off the boat on 10/14, released from customs and to liner on 10/19, isn't here yet. My wagon got off the boat on a Friday, and was here in Maine on Monday morning!
My understanding is that they are NOT fixing ED damage anymore. But if that is not the case and they are, I will be perfectly happy to have waited a bit. I got a nice door ding in the parking garage of the Porsche Museum the second day I had the car. Right smack in the middle of the passenger side door.

They cover most things, they never covered small wear and tear. That being said if it is marked they usually fix it. My tires were decimated from 2 days at ring and day at spa, I did not mark it, but car had new rubber, rotors and pads. Could have been safety related so they just did it. I certainly was not expecting them to cover my track consumables.

I am absolutely astounded that they gave you a new set of tires - that is amazing! Rotors and pads I can see since that is covered under the maintenance anyway. I'll reply to this thread when I get the car as to what they did.

Just picked up my car from the dealership (although it was there 3 days ago, work schedule was too crazy to pick it up). The tiny scratch on the rear bumper was not repaired, but it's barely noticeable.
One thing I'm puzzled by -- why was the car driven 11 miles (between the time when I dropped it off in Germany and today) when it was transported from place to place by truck? |

Amazingly, I STILL don't have my car! My CA said a week ago it should be released "this week", but still no sign. Sigh. Will have been eight weeks from drop off the day after tomorrow, and it has been in NJ since 10/14.
Hopefully this griping will cause it to show up tomorrow, the monthly BMWCCA chapter meeting is tomorrow night, I sure would like to show off my new baby! The really annoying part is that if it isn't here by Wednesday, I am away for work until the day before Turkey Day. Ugh.

Well, I figured griping would cause something to happen.
Made it to the dealer today! I pick her up tomorrow afternoon, has to go through the shop for an inspection sticker in the morning. Stopped by to give her a hug tonight (I live right around the corner). Looks like they PDR'd the door ding, but did not paint. Which I am OK with, given how hard Estoril Blue is to match. Very small vertical scratch left, should look OK. I'll call it a mark of honor, a battle scar from the mean streets of Germany! I'm not going to sleep well tonight, and my morning of meetings is going to SUCK...
