I was coding some of the headlight washer functions on my 2016 M235i, with the $700 'cold weather package' and I notice that although my vehicle has a cut-out by the front bumper, where I assumed it supposedly has a robotic arm that retracts and spray washer fluid when it is summons or after 3rd windshield fluid spray, - depended on the region factory it's coded.. However, after MANY attempts, I realized that it does not have a washer arm that actually functions....

Then I started thinking about it; and I never remember in the last 2 years of ownership noticed the retractable washer arm ever in action - ever! I have a sneaking suspicion that for the F22s, BMW quietly downgraded this feature but I can't confirm this because of the fact that there are very little mention of this unpopular option.

Can anyone confirm they have a functioning "retractable headlight washer system" on their F22, regardless of its trim selected or options.

Funny, as far as features goes; with or without, its both a win either way..

It’s just two spray nozzles- no washer arms. So all you’d notice is two huge mists of fluid

So you're telling me there is functioning headlights washers behind the bumper ?cutout? of a 235i CWP? Because I tried everything and I can't seem to get them to demonstrate that they functioning...

They only activate below a certain mph and something like every 10 windshield cleanings.

I've never seen them but you can hear them. Try activating the wiper stalk 10-20 times in a row. It might be every 5th or 10th time.

As someone else mentioned there is no mechanical arm,.just two nozzles that pop out of the bumper.

I have them in my bumper on my 2014 and they work just fine. Too bad the body shop that repainted my front bumper broke the tabs on the cover and it went to the BMW graveyard one morning when I was driving to work leaving the sprayer exposed. Still works though.

I honeslty use it more for when I have someone who’s next to me smoking and blowing smoke like an ass. I call it my fire extinguisher.
