TPMS sensor test?
Does anyone know if there is a way to test TPMS sensors? I recently purchased a set that was taken off another car - same model and year as mine. I plan on using them for my winter set up but would like to test them before getting them installed on the wheels.

You need an activation/query tool. Basic models, like an Autel TS401 are around $140 on Amazon. It will activate the sensor and pull all the current values out of it, such as ID, pressure, and temp.
You might be able to have a local tire shop read them for a reasonable fee. And if you're having a local shop mount them, they should be able to test them before installing them. |

Another way is to get the part number from them and look them up in REALOEM. That will tell you what year model and production dates they are correct for. BMW has in the past changed TPMS sensor specs during the same model year production run and you sometimes find two or more part numbers for the same model and year car. You should be able to run a VIN check to determine your car's production date.
