Your New 2018 M240i LCI Pics
Hi Everyone,
I just found out today that my 2018 M240i is aboard the Vessel Tongala and on its way to the East Coast (anyone else's on the same vessel?). Two years of research is about to come to fruition! I am on business travel so my car will likely be ready a few days before I am home, so prop's to my dealer for timing my order perfectly. I know many of you were a few weeks ahead of me in production, so I assume many 2018's will be arriving steadily over the next few weeks. I thought I would create this thread for everyone to share their pics of the new LCI. All pics are welcome, but I assume many people looking to order would love to see some detailed pics of new options/colors/design tweaks in the LCI. I hope this thread takes off, so post away as your car arrives! |

Nice! I actually saw your damaged '17 at the dealership and it sealed the deal for me to get Estoril Blue.

The diffuser is an after-market unpainted "M-Performance Style" add-on that I purchased from Car Parts Connection on ebay and painted myself. The pre-painted spoiler is also after-market from Taiwan on ebay as are the stainless exhaust tips. The silver "fins" in the front air ducts are homemade.

I never had a chance to see the damaged car after delivery to my dealership (it was damaged in the transport truck between the Galveston port and the Little Rock dealership). I have often wondered when/where it was repaired and if it was sold locally as an almost-new car. Did you buy it?

The "fins" were so simple that I don't think they really belong in the DYI section. They were inspired by the fin design on the European M240's but which did not transfer to the U.S. version due to some government regulation about potential blocking of the air duct (according to BMW Genius). I like a little "jewelry" on my car so long as it is not gaudy.
Anyway, I made mine from a $1.50 package of 18" Heavy Duty Cable Ties (Walmart) and a 12 foot roll of 8 mm Car Chrome Moulding Trim Strip from ebay ($9). I cut a cable tie to exactly fit across the car's plastic duct trim and anchored each end with a small black wood screw from by parts bin. (I drilled holes into the duct trim from the front of the car; no need to take the duct trim off). Before mounting, I sanded the smooth side of the cable tie with sand paper to roughen it up a little to allow the chrome strips to adhere well (they have 3M tape on the back). I cut the chrome strips a bit shorter than the cable ties and stuck them on the ties offsetting the strips towards the sides of the car. DONE. The fabrication and assembly for both sides took about 30 minutes. Here are some pics which hopefully show how simple this was. |

Took delivery of my 2018 M240xi today! Received a call out of the blue yesterday saying the car had arrived. I was originally told it would even be built until the week of 9/11 and I wasn't expecting it until late October which worked great for me considering I'm still in a lease on a Cadillac.
End of the month sales crunch worked in my favor and the dealership paid my last two lease payments to get a unit moved before September ended. Estoril Blue with the bi-color rims on non-RFTs, CF mirrors, black kidney grilles. Oyster Dakota Leather with the Fineline Stream Wood trim |

Enjoy these next few weeks while you get to know it!
I'm quickly approaching 1 year of ownership, 25k miles / ~715 hrs later and I still enjoy it every time I get in it (even more so after I drive another car). But, nothing compares to the first few days and then again once finally passing 1,200 miles and being able to unleash it!

After working for BMW for over 15 years, I figured it was probably time for my first one... I just took delivery of my 18' M240i exactly 1 month ago. Black Sapphire Metallic on the black 719 M wheels with black sensatec sports seats. Alum. hexagon/high gloss black trim. I'll get pictures up once it's clean. It's been snowing/raining just about every day since I took delivery. Everyone's cars are looking beautiful!
