Ro-Ro your boat..

I swear I am at least mildly intelligent, but this thought came to mind while watching my boat make its way across the Atlantic. I couldn't find anything with a few google searches.

When these ships come across with thousands of new cars, do they keep each individual key in a central location? With the car? Are the cars not coded to an individual key yet or is there some master?

Getting close to a month to go.

Here is an interesting article about roro ships and a video showing them loading cars.

I read this a few minutes before posting. It was the closest I found but the "car key" search term ended up being the "key car." Did the video provide any more info?

Nothing about the key to each car. My guess is it is attached on the outside in an envelope. The drivers need to quickly get in each car and drive it off. No time to sort through a pile of keys.

I'd like to assume since most (if not all?) BMWs nowadays have push to start engines they just leave the key in the cup holder or something. Even if it was a normal key that would still work.

ro-ro i believe they attach the keys to the steering wheel with something like a cable tie to avoid possibility of losing it
