Rear cup holder

Frustrated by not having rear cup holders, I broke down a purchased OEM ones for $117.
When I got the part...it didn't fit. (Part number 52207353211)
Anyone know if there is more than one part number for 2016 M235i coupe?
This is what it looks like:

I believe this only works in the convertible as the seat base bin is of a slightly different shape and design compared to the hardtops.

Yes, vert only. I don't really fit in the back of my car so I haven't spent much time there..does our "bin" even have a slot to latch into? That button and latch faces forward on the soft top and locks in.

OP, if you made a thread prior to buying the part, I would've been able to tell you it wasn't going to fit.

There's no latch. Here's what it looks like:

Why oh why doesn't this fit the coupe!!! German engineering finally slips up and does something wrong. Only people that drive convertibles want rear drink holders?

I contacted the seller and they're requesting the last 7 of my VIN to find the correct part. If it even exists...
I'll report back with my findings.

I've looked into this and never found one instance of a M235 hardtop having rear cupholders. Plus, I believe the rear cushion in the convertible is different due to less rear leg room (thanks to the convertible). Same goes for the bin in the convertible rear seat. It appears to be of a slightly different shape and size.

Can you take a picture of the cupholder in the M235 hardtop bin? Does it even come close to fitting inside the bin?

This is what it looks like:
I really hate to do the I-told-you-so dance, but man, this is the perfect example:

This thread from about seven months ago demonstrates, via part numbers and other methods, that the rear cup holder insert that you ordered fits 2 Series convertibles ONLY. There is no equivalent part for 2 Series coupes, even in Europe

All you had to do was search "rear cup holder" in the General Forum, and you'd have found this in about 10 seconds and saved $117.

I looked around and posted a few questions but didn't find anything.
The part is refundable...so all is not lost.

It's actually too long and wide on one side. I'll post some pics later. I might be able to hack and shave it down if I decide to go that route.
