I followed instructions here
http://www.bimmerfest.com/wiki/index...ng_Re-Delivery

basically went to the wwl link

https://www.2wglobal.com/webapps?url...uickSearchPage

and put my vin number into the cargo id box...

every day, since I came home.

Today it gave me a boat name.

Then I went here http://www.marinetraffic.com/

put the boat name in, and its one I can track

11 days from dropoff to departure... that's pretty good!

For me, it was 14 days from Munich dropoff to departure on the Asian Vision.

Awesome thanks for the info. I will do the same. My car is going to Charleston, SC so I'm wondering how long it will take.

at the 1st tracking site (w&w) on the same screen you see your ship name,

you get a voyage number, click on that and it shows a time line of the ship,

mine is supposed to get to NY (where my car gets dropped off) 8/5 S.C. looks to be 6 days later because it goes to GA first.

I was hoping it be even sooner, but yet this seems to be tracking very nicely.

Should be getting to NY port 8/5. guessing I could get my car around somewhere between the 12 and 19.

Not to bad. Hope it keeps going this quick.

When I put my info in it still doesn't give me anything. I'm in the military home shipping program instead of the ED return program so I don't know if it's much different in how they do the shipment. I don't get to wait for it to be delivered to the dealership in the US or for it to make it through the VPC. I pick it up at the port in Charleston, SC when it comes in and clears customs.

I didnt get anything for over a week, So drop off was on July the 10th, and until today I didnt see anything on tracking site, it just said no records found.

I came in to work and put the vin number in today, and boom the record was found.

So if you dropped on on thursday, I wouldnt think you'd see anything till maybe friday.

Thats nice that you get to pick it up from after customs. Saves you a few days.

Why can't you track it? My car is leaving port today and heading out to sea.

Once the boats head into the open ocean the free tracking ends. And you'd have to pay for satellite tracking service. When they are near land the position is transmitted using ground sensors.

Gotcha. That would explain it. I got the whole schedule for my boat from the website. Have you looked to see when it's due to arrive at your port?

8/5 in NY.

im in the Midwest. So hopefully a week later it'll make it here.

Going to have to call the dealer next week to see if he can find out more, plus remind him to not drill holes in the front bumper.

That last part is key information. Your timeline sounds about right. Now that you know it's moving it will probably take forever. I'm trying to not to think about it as that's the situation with my car. Luckily it corresponds with me leaving Europe and moving back the US so it's a little easier to stay distracted from the time.

Its gotten better. The first week of 'tracking' was brutal. At least now I know its going in the right direction, and its supposed to be in the US in about a week. So I'm closer to the end the beginning.

That's great to hear. I can't wait either. Mostly because I will be back in the states instead of Europe with all it's inconveniences and beauty.

Torino made it to port this morning. 2 days later then originally planned -GRRR- but so close now.

Hope it clears customs quick, and with luck maybe next week I finally see my m235 again?
