Dealership Comp

My Glacier Grey M235i was supposed to have arrived at my dealership on 15 Jul, but that did not happen. My advisor said there was a port delay. So okay, no prob, I'll suck it up. Yesterday my advisor calls me and says there's another delay. My car is stuck in South Carolina. I asked him, why is it there and not in a transport truck on its way here. Apparently it was missing the front splitter and waiting to install it before it's transported. I am very disappointed that no one thought this through. Delaying a car that was already delayed is not a very smart decision. The general manager had suggested the car could of continued and the part could of been sent to the dealership and installed when it arrived.

My advisor mentioned something about dealership comp. My question to you guys is what kind of comp should I expect? Any suggestions is appreciated. Thx!

Have them comp you the cost of the spoiler that delayed your car.

I wouldn't press for any kind of compensation for the delay.
Enjoy the car when it comes in, have a feeling once you start driving it you won't even care it was delayed.

to me it depends on if the car is paid for yet.

On a ED it would suck to have more delays because I already paid for / am paying for the car, if on the other hand the payment starts on delivery, I'd just be slightly annoyed.

Things happen - let it go.

It's just a car; not everything can be perfect. You don't have to be one of 'those people' who demand some sort of reparations for a slight delay.

Unless you were given a firm delivery date when you placed your order, you really don't have much to support an argument for any type of compensation. There are several factors outside BMW's and the dealership's control, so I'd find it difficult to believe you were guaranteed a specific delivery "drop" date.

While it never hurts to ask for compensation, I'd hardly go in with the expectation of getting anything substantial, or for that matter, anything at all.

I was given a firm delivery date and my dealership was off by over a month. They gave me nothing but an apology.

And you have that on an official document from the dealership?

Thanks guys for your responses. I'm not "those people" who is automatically entitled to something for whatever reason. I'll find out today or tomorrow what comp they will offer if any. I know many dealership these days has lost their customer service ways, but I think there are still some out there who are still taking care of their customers. I hope I'm one of them. Shoot, I'd be happy with a MP mats or pedals.

Quick update after my delivery of my GS M235i. The dealership was very apologetic of the delays and offered me $150 BMW gift cards. My advisor was very sincere he wishes he could of done more than the amount of the gift cards. He did say, he would hook me up with a employee discount when using my gift cards. Not bad and told him I greatly appreciate the excellent customer service he provided. So for those who run into some delays with their delivery, be sincere about your disappointment and hopefully the dealership won't be d*ck and give you some comp. Lol.

Love the car bro! Going easy on her...for now. Love the driving feedback and nimble acceleration! I was on the hwy on 6th gear and it just chugs along like it was on 5th gear. It did remind me a bit of my 98' 540i as far as torque with a lightness drivability. Pure enjoyment!

How about you? Any complaints about it?
