My car must've broken some kind of record

This is the longest delivery I have ever experienced. Here's the timeline:

ED drop off: May 1
Ship departs Germany: May 21
Ship arrives in Cali: June 19
Scheduled date to arrive at the dealer: July 19

And that last date is another planned date that I don't know how reliable it is. Needless to say I'm talking to the dealer every day...

Did anybody experience longer delivery dates? My dealer told me this is the longest from arriving to Cali to dealership that he experienced.

Wow. The 20 days from when you dropped it off until the ship left is long but not that weird. The real outlier is the 1 month from arrival to re-delivery. Did they have to repair something?

Oh, no. That sounds awful. Now I'm having terrible flashes to not getting my car until Christmas...

They didn't tell me anything. The dealer asked me if there were any issues with the car when I it dropped off. There weren't. It was washed and in perfect condition. Now I'm thinking it might have some shipping damage that they need to fix. I will need to find out.

Here's where I'm at on my 228i ED:

Dropped off Loginout Munich: 5/17
Departed Bremerhaven: 5/30
Arrived California: 6/24

As of today, 7/13 still waiting. Got email from my CA 7/10 car was still at VPC due to shipping damage. I know it was shipping damage, because my Loginout inspection noted no damage.

Hmmm, the original poster here is at ~11 weeks since he dropped in Munich. That is long... by anyone's count.

Today is the 19th, tomorrow I'm going to call the dealer to see if the car arrived. They still need to install some M Parts so it will take a few more days I guess.

The longest I've heard for an ED hangup is ~2 months on the dock after release from the ship before it made it into the VPC. The car was selected for "Customs Intensive Audit". Not a happy story.

The car (of course) didn't get to the dealer. New date is Wed July 22.
