Sold my M235...bought a 911 GTS
I wanted to stop in again and say thanks for the great forum. This place is fabulous and it gave me direction purchase my '16 M235 in the first place, then it helped me mod it, and eventually it helped me sell it. Congrats to F4113NBMW for the purchase. Have a great ride home, and enjoy it for years to come.
In case you're curious- I replaced it with a '15 Porsche 911 Carrera GTS! It's only been 100 miles so far but I've had a smile the entire time. EDIT: one week update below on post 12 (with more pics) Last edited by kunzjob; 03-25-2018 at 08:20 AM.. |

Congrats and enjoy. At some point please come back and share your thoughts relative to the Carrera GTS vs the M235. Clearly they aren't in the same league from a performance or cost standpoint but it would still be fun to hear your thoughts.

Nice wash and detail at home today. After a week and 500 miles- just WOW. This thing is incredible. Obviously it’s another level- both luxury and performance. Going around corners is much like how I feel on my Aprilia Tuono Factory. Just sublime. Throw anything at it and it takes it in stride and asks for more. It’s a touch quicker than my M was straight-line. But here’s the kicker, it feels the same or even slower until you look at the speedo. 0-85 happens so fast and I’m in 3rd wanting to keep rowing up to 7. Interior fit and finish is great, feels more upscale than any BMW I’ve ever been in.
Following are the build sheet, a few pictures, and a link to my Google photos album with more pictures: https://photos.app.goo.gl/oiQ5cPBiuERoIxzp1 |

Wow, congrats! I did the exact opposite. My first sports car was a used 997.1 Carrera S, and today I drive a m240i. Both 6-speed manual and both excellent cars for different reasons! I hope to have another 911 one day parked next to the bimmer, but if I go down that road again, it will be a new one and it will be PDK so my wife can also enjoy driving it.
Have fun with that beauty and keep it safe!

Bimmer was way more responsive to my throttle input than the Audi was. Only way I could get the Audi to compare was manually shift down one gear. |

The turbos in the BMW certainly make for more instantaneous throttle response than a non aspirated P car. Certainly, you can help that along with downshifting a 3 pedal or PDK equipped Porsche. I refer to the Porsche as "relentless". I just continues to accelerate seamlessly. It does not throw you back in the seat like a turbocharged BMW or big block V-8. It pushes you back FIRMLY in your seat and never lets you back UP. There is plenty of "throttle response--its just very linear." Its really not fair to compare a very quick, very sporty coupe to a tried and true sports car with many years of breeding and twice the price. Both great cars in their own way. I love my little pocket rocket but I would never give up my 911 ( even for a new one--I don't want elec. steering, PDK or too much GT car stuff. ). I count myself as very lucky to have both. Congrats to the owner of the GTS--gorgeous car. Last edited by emtrey; 03-25-2018 at 05:18 PM.. |

Congrats and welcome to the family. I have a white '15 GTS but it's more of a comfort build than a "purist" build. But, there are so few of those NA GTS around that I couldn't really be too picky. Whenever I saw it come up for saw, I immediately traded in my '15 C4S to get it.
BTW, Rennlist is a much more active community across the board. You'll have fun over there.
