OEM European License Plate Holder - Front

Hello,
I live in the states and I just recently purchased a 228i. I tried to get my BMW dealer to order me an OEM European front license plate holder and he tells me they can't do this. They did this for me several years ago when I purchased my 135i after I researched the European part number and gave it to them - they ordered it.

I do not want a generic euro license plate holder. Can anyone give me advice on how I can procure the OEM plate holder? I'm not 100% certain if this is the correct part number (51 11 8 059 571), but it is the one I gave to the dealer and I was told that they could not ship European parts to dealers in the states.

I appreciate your help. I'll pay top dollar to get one shipped from Germany, if anyone is willing to get it and ship it to me.
Thanks,
John

Just use some double sided tape. Good enough for ED cars.

Isn't a euro plate holder the wrong shape for US plates?

Actually BMW has been cracking down a lot on this over the last year. The only way to get a part for a European market car is to have it legally registered in the states.

@TBRro2002 - The state I live in doesn't require a front plate, so I can put a custom plate on front.

Lucky, why not a clean no plate look then? That's what I'm doing even though it's illegal in CA

In the UK we have to have front number plates and our cars don't have plate holders they just either stick on or are screwed onto the bumper...

What person who isnt a police officer has ever argued in favor of front license plates.

My province hasn't ever had them and I cant think of a single reason anyone would want to do so aside from increasing flexibility for speed camera placement.

You can keep your front plate.

The large plate frames will interfere with the parking sensors. IN Germany at my dealer we don't use the frames. OP I would not worry abouth this item. It's no longer useful in reality and to correct my spurious sensor warnings the frame was removed to allow them to work properly.
