LED turn signal problem

Hello everyone,

tried to search whole forum but couldn't find the answer.

I've bought OSRAM LEDdriving Standard amber LEDs (PY21W, BAU15S). I tried to put one bulb in and turn on the hazard lights. The side where is the OEM bulb works but OSRAM doesn't even blink. Bulb works, I tried to connect it to the 12V.

Do I need to do the coding first and after that swap the bulbs? Or do I have to swap both and then they will light up? (I didn't want to do that, since the first one damaged my hand pretty badly - so asking first)

Thank you,
Michal

Does your turn signal works with the LED installed on one side? make sure they are locked in right . i don't recall doing anything before hand but i do remember they are pretty hard to turn only because of space available to work with. I tried with one LED first to make sure it works. i used the Bimmercode to turn off the checks afterword.

Yes, the OEM orange bulb on the other side works. The LED one doesn't. It's locked correctly, based on the little click sound when turning it. Later I installed the OEM back to the side where LED was and it worked fine.
My guess is that I'll have to pull metal tab on the bottom of the socket, it probably can't reach the bulb connector.

I had the exact same problem. It seems that the polarity is somehow wrong. Normally the connector in the middle should be plus, however in my headlights it was minus.
So here is what I did: I ordered two spare sockets, soldered two wires to the LED bulb, bend/removed the connectors in the socket where they would make a direct connection and soldered the wires to them. Fiddly, but works.
I also added some paint to the Led:

Thank you for the tip, sir .
But that's probably the last thing I would like to do :/.

Anyway - I'll check the polarity on weekend and will hope that it's just caused by slightly shorter bulb

hmm ..very interesting . only thing i can think off is the diff between European and the USA model. Mine only went in one way so there is no way to mix up the polarity. It was a simple plug and play.

some LED retrofits have rectifiers - the Philips ones unfortunately have none. The socket fits only in one orientation, so maybe there was just a batch with an incorrect wiring. My car is from 04.2016 and has the adaptive Xenon Headlights.

Sadly isn't my case :/. I connected the socket with a bulb to 12V from wall and polarity was same as on the stock.
I'll return these and try Spektrum bulbs

I bought these and had great success with them. Worked since the very first try, no need to alter them in any way. Don't throw a code on the dash either. They're super bright, too. Very happy with them, despite their price.

two or four? Just wondering if you can use these on all corners or just the front.

I only bought some for the front, but there's a thread around here where the guy states exactly what will work for the back and stuff. Good read, I eventually want to replace the rear turn signals and brake lights as well, but not a huge rush right now.

I already upgraded to the LED taillights, but as far as I can remember the rear turn lights have a BA15s P21W socket whereas the front ones are BAU15s/PY21W. You could file down the respective pin, but it is not a perfect solution.
Turn and brake light bulbs in the taillights are both clear P21W bulbs.

Bimmercode settings?

Can someone show what settings in Bimmercode need to be adjusted to eliminate flickering on LED FRONT turn signals?

Here you go. This is in demo mode so it does not reflect actual values in my car.
