I use Sports+ on a regular basis, even for my daily commute (manual shifting in the 8AT). Even when there's no spirited driving going on.

Ditto for me as well....and i changed sport mode to throttle only when i want the comfort setting. Im used to a touchy throttle in my previous vehicles so sport+ mimics that pretty well.

Does it effect mileage. I still get shitty mileage (19.0) driving in comfort mode most of the time. BMW must calculate the great mileage they claim by driving in Eco mode at 40mph. I get 23 in my X3 with the 2.8.

You may want to get that checked out - I drive pretty aggressively and love flooring it when lights turn green but I'm still averaging 26.

Your MPG will change drastically depending on driving conditions. My 1-hr commute consists of 60% slow/stop-go traffic and 40% highway. In traffic, I average anywhere from 13-17mpg, while on highway I average ~28mpg in comfort. My net mpg is currently sitting at 21.5mpg.

15K Kms on the clock and I have used Sport mode twice (briefly) and have never used Sport+ or ECO Pro.
Comfort mode gives me more power than I can safely or legally use. That said, I do keep the auto-tranny in DS (sport) for everything but longer freeway hauls.

I use Sport+ in manual shift mode most often and drive "quickly" nearly everywhere I go. I have Sport set to comfort chassis and use that if roads are harsh and I use comfort when driving with a passenger who isn't in it for a wild ride.

I can still get the same gas mileage when in sport throttle versus comfort. Its just all about how much pedal pressure you apply. Comfort throttle is obviously way easier to modulate to retain good mileage but since im used to a touchy throttle, i can still modulate the sport throttle to maintain mpgs. Not exact numbers but just to get an idea, comfort throttle allows me a couple more inches of pedal travel to modulate acceleration versus only a few centimeters of pedal travel for sport throttle. A sensitive foot helps....
Edit: But i will add that accelerating is just too much fun...fun does not equal mpgs |

I actually almost never use Sport+. Used it once for a launch when I ended up lost in some back road and figured why not. Other than that I use Sport when I feel like spirited driving, mostly comfort mode on normal driving, and usually Eco when driving home.

Sport+. If you drive quickly/more aggressively, you will notice how the car bogs down at times in sport or comfort. Sport+ mostly eliminates that and let's it feel like a crazy machine that's always ready to go.

You owe it to yourself to try it out, especially on twisties. I don't think Sport+ gives you more power, just a different feel to throttle, steering, and shift points (and suspension if you have the adjustable version?). It can still induce some less than totally lawful behavior, but not much worse than in comfort mode.
