DME's do record data for the most part. It's how we aqquire freeze frame data along with knowing how many times a fault has occurred.

But thats if a CEL is thrown, right? I for example have some CC-ID errors I would like to look in further related to RDCI that have no freeze frame what so ever, at least none I can pull off with OBD.
