Well I wasn't implying that I was happy that I will be waiting till end of the year for the car. I was saying the thread made me feel better about the fact that I no longer can get this car in April after the bad tax news I got (which I posted about in the off topic forum). Obviously I would love to be able to take home the one I ordered when it arrives at dealer any day now, but that is no longer my reality.

The AC controls are a what-the-heck-are-they-thinking fail. You have to constantly adjust two knobs to set the temperature....as if you can have your side at 80 and passenger at 65. This though, is not a 235i only fail, all the 3s and 4s are the same.

Me too.

My nitpick is I haven't ordered my car yet because nobody knows when LSD will show up as a port option!

But maybe the odds are in my favor! My dealership is having an i3 event in 2 weeks. Maybe I will get a $1,000 off new car purchase voucher

You do realize it's been this way on BMW's for a very long time? Like since the E36? How big a deal is it to turn one more knob? People bitched about the E46 having only one temp control, now they're bitching about again having 2 but not adding yet another switch to turn it into one again? There's just no winning with some people.

Is there really no way to sync them at all? My dad had a Volvo SUV that did not have a "dual/single" button but if you held down drivers side for 2 seconds it would beep and sync them up. Would only revert to dual if you touched the passenger. Just an idea, might be hidden in there somewhere.

The 135 had the "ALL" function to sync the knobs. I also think they should have retained that functionality. I'll live though.

I had an '08 135i and it too did NOT have the ALL button. It was a button labelled RES, which was meant to be the same as "parked car operation" in later models. My '10 135i DID have the ALL button, it replaced the RES button.

i think the whining makes more sense when you realize we have to reach over to the passenger side twice: once to separately adjust the passenger temperature & a second time to get another tampon out of the flimsy glove compartment.

Isn't that where the residual heat could be used when the engine was off? I think I had that on my 07 E92 - it worked nice, that way you didn't waste gas if you were sitting somewhere and didn't want the engine running.

+1, not a big deal, and yes in theory u can have different temp settings per side (albeit I agree I always kept mine set to the same temp).

Yeah I think it was something like that, but it only works sometimes... I guess depending on if there is enough residual heat? Or perhaps it allowed for residual cooling using the A/C... I could never get the darn thing to work consistently enough to figure it out LOL.

Yes, I think you're right - that the engine had to be up to temp before it would "work"

Ouch. That sucks.

I'm on the other end of this. Got some good tax news (for a change), which is helping with the down payment of my 235, due in a few weeks.

I feel that your tax burden is likely funneling right into my bank account and this makes me feel bad. If you can get your ass out to Los Angeles around May, let me offer you a ride in my new wheels that you're helping to fund...as a peace offering!

Absolutely right. My gf would travel in a sauna if given the opportunity.

REST was awesome on my 335 for the cold months. When I was filling up gas after work, I'd run back in the car and enjoy the heat.
