I have an ordering guide dated 12/10/2013, and there are 3 choices for M235i tires.
2PG (standard) - these are the PSS
2TR (optional) - all seasons
258 (optional) - runflats

2PG requires ordering 840 (increased top speed)
2TR deletes 840
The guide doesn't specify what effect 258 has on top speed. Maybe this is how that guy wound up with the Bridgestone RFT's.

Again, run flats don't limit your speed the all season tires do. Every BMW M Sport sold has run flats most with summer performance and rated up to 150+. The only model other than true M's with non run flats are the M235 so there is no reason the run flat summer performance M235 would be limited to 130.

Without mods you definitely would be limited by drag, I suppose 165 might be the fastest it could go. Given all bolt ons though I suspect 180 is within reach.

When I called BMW Genius, and they said all M235i are limited at 155 regardless of Tires.
Does it mean that when you ordered the car with option 840 - Increased top speed limiter that it is set at 155 regardless?

155 is the 2nd top speed limit. Same as in Europe. Where do you'll reach that speed?

I don't know if that is even possible using the outer track at Bahrain International Circuit (2.2 miles straight line) or if I can even drive that fast.

Because he has a 228 Msport, non track package like mine. Bridgestone summer high performance run flats and the 155 top speed

You guys are funny , clearly there's only one way to find out , and you don't attempt to hit 150mph then it probably doesn't even matter ! 130mph is plenty in usa ... U can't hit that speed anywhere without getting arrested

Actually you can hit that speed in the USA without getting arrested. Track day events. I was over 130 mph at Watkins Glen in NY with my Mustang, and an E92 M3 hit 140 there. No arrests.

Wow you guys spread some really incorrect things. I have a 228 msport with runflats. My car is governed to 155. As far as I remember when I did a ton of research and reading back in April.. All season tires on the 228 or 235 will get you governed to 130. Otherwise all msport BMWs have 150+. And no you can not change it later. Someone delete page one of this thread. It's a waste

I started another thread asking if anyone has a fix for this , because yes my car has all season run flats and gets to 127mph and goes no more. It will suck at the track because it gets there in a hurry. I wish my dealer would have brought this to my attention, because originaly I wanted the MPSS and told him this but I still ended up with all seasons
Hopefully someone will come up with a fix for this.

most tunes used to override the speed limiter... maybe they will have something like that eventually

I can definitely confirm that with the all season tires, the M235i is limited to 130mph. With the summer tires, the car does not have the limiter and will do 155

It still does have the limiter... it's just that is set to 155 instead of 130

It almost certainly is off that much, unless you have coded it to read uncorrected. BMW intentionally makes the speedo read high. On my '11 328i, a GPS indicated 130 was showing just about 140 on the speedometer. And that is the limiter, as I don't have the sport package. Note it is only the speedometer, the odometer is spot on. The limiter is dead on 130 too. Very precise, those Germans, when they want to be.

I have mine coded to show actual speed in the OBC.
