Very cool! Would love to test drive that to see how it compares to my stock 235i. Thanks for sharing!

I drove it when it was running the S2 package for a week and it was addicting. I couldn't roll the windows up since it would diminish that sweet exhaust sound.

I did notice the steering seemed to only have one mode, switching between comfort and sport no longer changed the steering feel.

I was hoping my Bimmer mag would show up in the mail before my long flight tomorrow night. This will be some good reading to pass time!

Thanks for posting.

That's awesome you had a chance to drive it! I would leave the window down too! I would be fine with a Sport steering all the time!

My early plan for mine is a P1 upgrade for now. Eventually I'll move up to the S3. Thx for the feedback, would love to hear other experience you had with the S3.

Wow, just noticed that Steve Dinan has left and sold the company. I hope the new owner will keep up the Dinan innovation and tradition. No wonder why the price went up!

... which makes the exact same mistake that the Jalopnik feature on the same car a few days ago makes: The Dinan upgrades total about $10K in parts alone. No mention is made of installation costs (i.e., labor), which would be at least several more grand.

SO misleading.

I can understand Jalopnik making this mistake. But a BMW enthusiast magazine? Good LORD.

Some may have gone up but they also dropped the price of the exhaust substantially. It was $1899 a few months ago when I got it and now $1399.

Steve sold the company to Driven Performance Brands which also owns Flowmaster. I've spent good time with their VP of Engineering and I can say they are in good hands.

Thanks for the info on the exhaust Atoms. I didn't even noticed the price drop, just noticed the increase on the intake. I may pull the trigger on the exhaust sooner than I thought.

Good to know Dinan is in good hands. I still need to drive down to Mountain View one of these days when I visit Cali and check out the Dinan HQs.

Did the S3 have an LSD by chance? If so, was it the MP or Dinan diff?

Exactly, no mention of the LSD in the article,
Still $10k for suspension, wheels, inter cooler upgrade, big turbo and tune isn't too bad of a deal.. That is if the M2 didn't exist

Having said that, this upgrade might make more sense for existing M235 owners like myself rather than the cost of trying to upgrade to an M2.
