Broken Charge Pipe Symtoms?

Anyone that has broke there charge pipe what were your symptoms? My car builds some boost and then falls flat on its face. At first I thought it was my JB4 but now I'm thinking that's got to be what's happening. I have read how others have broke and its a weak point in the system. I have a ER CP but I wanted to wait till after my first service before I changed it. I hear its a real pain in the ass to change?

Changing the charge pipe is rather easy.

Visual would be the quickest and easiest check.

Since you have jb4, run logs and look at boost.

Charge pipe is kind of a bitch to install. Easiest is to pull bumper and inter cooler, if you have a lift since its a 2 piece CP you can do half from bottom and half from top, it's still a REAL tight fit.

It can be a pain in the ass. Mine was rather easy as we already had the inter cooler out to change that too. But another friend did it and it took about an hour and a half but they pulled out a bunch of stuff to get to it from the top.

I blew a Chargepipe on my 1 series and basically t felt like the car had no boost. But what you are describing could be a cracked Chargepipe or something. Mine just exploded.

Thanks for the replies fellas, I found the culprit I feel a lot better now. The clamp that mates the BMS intake to the existing piping was loose. And for some reason I remember loosening it to do something or not lol. I just Switched to the JB4 EWG specific board and thought it was messed up. I took A test run, the boost is back its running well again. Happy New Year!

Interesting. I've had similar experience with my intake. Glad you found it.

OK it took 2 years I'm 2 months away from returning the car the charge pipe has now definitely broke sounded like a bomb went off like a huge backfire. So bad I was stuck on the side of the road. I thought I was going to make it to lease end.
Anyone have a stock charge pipe there looking to sell. I need the metal clip as well cant find mine?

(Update) I was able to get one overnight thanks anyway for all who reached out much appreciated.

Not When your Cat is missing and you're running a JB4. I found a guy in NJ with a new one for $230. I would remove the Mods but I can't get it over to my buddys lift. When I cold start its goes bonkers it's very unstable, I used electric tape I had in the truck to nurse it home in Eco Pro at 5Mph. This is really a crippling situation I'm glad I was close to home.

Yes I was able to get one overnight thanks a lot for reaching out. What a Job even with a lift changing that thing. The sad part is the same exact pipe comes stock on the M2. I'm going to change that shit right away.

Yea since 2011 the N55 have had extremely flawed charge pipes. It's good peace of mind to go aftermarket.
