[Dinan_Engineering]

Since there has been quite a bit of interest in the next 2 stages of Dinan tuning for the M235i we had the guys at Autoblog swing by and do a first drive sneak peak on the S3 package (the big turbo / intercooler package).

Couple notes...

- The pricing listed on there is approximate, and most likely high, as we wanted to play it safe on the pricing estimate since we have not ironed that out yet.
- There is no technical data available at this time on the intercooler and big turbo specifically as certain parameters are still being tweaked and are subject to change. READ: Don't bother asking as I don't have anything to offer back.
- No definitive release date has been set as we are still awaiting production parts to come in, etc.

All in all there isn't much info for me to share other then the article. This is a teaser after all...

I wouldn't quite go that far as it still purveys what is in the works and approximate pricing as well as a review of the performance so not exactly meaningless. Would it be nice if there was more information? Absolutely, but this is all for marketing and exposure anyway. Teaser material at its finest.

If Dinan wanted to tease us, how about we see a video of the M235i performing with a stage 2 first ?

its pathetic how difficult it is to actually see the car perform vs a dyno sheet. Paper means nothing in the real world.

and this goes for all tunes....

Dinan- only vids i can find are stage 1 and 2 years old.
Active 8 - not one video yet of the car performing
Enzo - yes, good quality vid of car and timeslips to prove car is performing.
Jb4 - random vids

IMHO, the advertised gains seldom materialize into increased performance that is substantially measurable in the real world. I mod like everyone else, but think the true results are more anecdotal perception than reality.

Based on Pure's numbers I have to think a S3 tune including turbo is good for another 100+HP...a 33% power gain should be pretty measurable.

Here is video of my Dinan S2 vs 335i with full bolt ons, JB4, and E40. Camera in the M235i. I personally can't wait to see what these next stages of Dinan hold! Top notch stuff!

Not bad , i must admit. Can you do a daytime video of the dash while accelerating ? Maybe an outside vid of car taking off ? Looks promising. I wanna believe in Dinan soo bad, but need to see it perform in the real world.....


Its almost like someone buying the M235i without seeing it perform real world also, alot of people wouldnt buy it until its been proven.

Also, keep in mind ..... I know Dinan is suppose to last, and be user friendly etc, so im not expecting a stage 2 to rip tires off car, but it would be nice to see what your paying a good chunk of hard earned cash for....
