Ethanol mixing help in Canada
I've finally located E85 in my area. I've been researching the best fuel to mix it with, we have 91 octane wit 10% ethanol or 94 octane with 0% ethanol where I live. When I do the calculation the 91% with 10% ethanol takes less E85 to get to e35, but is only 95.6 total octane (4.75gal E85, 9.75gal 91). When mixed with 94 octane (0% ethanol) I need to mix 5.5gal E85 to 8gal 94 to get e35, but the octane is 98.5 total. It makes sense to me that the 94 octane fuel is better overall with the E85, but it would be nice to use less E85 for each tank as I need to truck it in by the barrel to where we live. Please give me your opinions if anyone has ran both these mixtures.

Another thing to consider is your fuel pumps capabilities. E35 might be to aggressive on the stock fuel system. Logging to make sure pumps are not struggling is a must. My car liked just under e30 mixed with 93. Lastly, ethanol does add cooling benefits too vs unleaded.. Hope I could help |

From a performance stand point go with the 94 + e85. It doesn't matter if the fossil fuel gas has 10% ethanol or not in it. Whatever your target is (e30, e35, etc) you will end up with the same amount of ethanol no matter the base gas you go with. So go with 94 so you get higher octane as your base fuel.
I have to use 91oct here in cali and do e35. I would LOVE to have 94oct. If you're trying to save on e85 then you can use the 91oct as a base. What are you using for tuning? Stock turbo?

I'm using JB4 for tuning, FBO and straight piped. However I am looking at going to stage 2 turbo and stage 2 or 3 fuel pump in the future depending on how I am liking how things are running with E85 mixtures. |

With e35+94 you'll probably be able to do ~18.5psi peak map 6 or 7. The fuel pump by itself won't do much for you without a PI system. Or just run meth.
