There are plenty S65 V8 135i or 1M Coupe swaps, but has anyone attempted putting the current gen M5 TT V8 powerplant in the current gen 2 series or M2?

I'd take an S55 swap any day over any V8. But that's just me

What's the weight difference between an S55 and M5 TT V8 fully dressed? Does the TT V8 bolt onto a 6spd gearbox?

Define "a lot". (For instance, considering there were less than 1,000 1Ms imported to the U.S. and their heightened value is contingent on remaining mostly stock, anyone who would do this is stupid, stupid, stupid.)

If "a lot" means 10 or 15 total (including 128is and 135is), OK. To me, that's not "a lot". That's "several". "A lot" means a significant percentage of the total of whatever you're talking about.

Here's an article about an F22 with LS based V8

http://www.speedhunters.com/2016/08/...est-drift-car/

Looks to me like not much of this car was made by BMW.

Come on, if you're going to do it, DO IT!

http://www.ebay.de/itm/BMW-Z4-8-3-SR...QAAOSwgmJXzF1f
http://www.roadandtrack.com/car-cult...z4-viper-swap/

Absolute unique, one-of-a-kind.

Driving can be described as: Brutal

The conversion was consistently designed for reliability and safety.
Handling was already good and the suspension setting is very well done.
Drivability and controllability therefore, for someone who can deal with more advanced vehicles is very good.

With closed exhaust flaps the car is, at least outside, pleasantly quiet.
However, the flaps automatically open above 3800 rpm which results in a sound that matches the driving behavior.
On the track, the flaps may be permanently open, at least when there are no sound limits.

Comfort: 2 racing seats with 6-point belts and heat insulation where necessary (otherwise nothing)

Engine: Dodge Viper SRT-10
Displacement: 8.3 liters
Power: 550 PS
Torque: 750 Nm (90% of which from 1,500 U / min.)
Transmission: Tremec T-56 6-speed
Empty weight (dry): 1398 kg
Weight distribution: 51% front, 49% rear (with passenger almost exactly 50%)
Brakes: Brembo 6 piston from the Audi R8

Stahlus racing cage with integrated central tunnel from 25CrMo4 (chrome molybdenum steel) (FIA certificate possible)

One-offs: stainless steel manifolds and valve exhaust system, aluminum radiator, aluminum oil pan, aluminum propeller shaft, drive shafts made of special steel, wiper linkage, various body parts, and holder support made of aluminum, steel and stainless steel.

All registered.

3 further upgrades are still possible or were being considered, however, it is difficult to keep the car street legal with these:
Weight reduction of approximately 80 - 100 kg by various carbon parts. (Goal just over 1300 kg dry)
Supercharger conversion to 700 hp and 900 Nm (place would be available with a modified radiator)
Conversion to electric power steering for lower steering forces

The car is registered and can be driven with appropriate security.

Realistic price proposals are also considered.

I don't now if I would spend the time and effort to transplant a v8 that's so temperamental. I'd consider a v12 out of a 850i or a v10 out of the m5.
