Hello guys,

I thought I've done enough research on the 228i convertibles but I get lost in the production run of the year...as it may have changed for some packages.

It seems...

I purchased my 2016 228i convertible August 13th. It has the luxury package and some unique wheels. I noticed that most luxury line/luxury package cars come with the older "2015 sport line" split-5 spoke wheels.

Here's my car with different wheels - the wheels it came with:

2016 MY 7/15 production date.

*Research I've done was not good enough it seems as I've only yielded what I know about the euro cars. Overseas the luxury line convertibles have had this wheel since 2015. It's even in the press photos and marketing packets. Hopefully I'm spending mis-information...but all this I've typed so far is what I think from what I've seen.

Please clear up some information I am lacking. Are these even the original wheels that came with the car? They better be.

Those are sport package 320i wheels for all intents and purposes.

No they are not. I used to have a 320i. The 320i sport wheel although similar kinda is silver painted. This wheel is a lot nicer (imho) it's machine polished and silver painted. More of a flat faced wheel too. The 320i sport wheel is more convex.

Here's the 2 series marketing with the wheels. The wheel was shown on the 228i luxury line model (possibly debut) at one of the world auto shows. Not sure which ones.

I can't find anything about the wheels

Your VIN shows that you have the 2LZ wheel package which comes with the 387 style wheels. The 387 style wheels are what you have in your pictures which means you got the right wheels.

I wonder what month they went to the std premium pkg wheels for luxury pkg.?

Most cars I was looking at had those wheels...which are the same wheels that my mom has on her Sport Line 2015 Glacier 228ixdrive convertible.

No not those wheels the machined face split 5 spoke on the 2015 sport line 228 convertibles. My mom has a Glacier/Coral red/Moonlight/ 228i xdrive convertible...looks just like the 2015 press car in the official 2 series convertible BMW USA video. Those wheels.

I think the op is looking for the 384 wheels... This are sport line optional wheel.. I have these on my 15 228xdrive sport line ..

Pic of them is in the order guide.. same wheel still available.

I get tons of compliments on them, since not many around.
