Guys, my order went into production on 3/31.. They're currently estimating it will be finished on 4/19. That's a long time, so it doesn't make sense to me.
Can anyone tell me how long it took for your car to be built once it started (Status 150)? I just find it strange it would take till the 19th to get to status 155 (Production Complete) Thanks!

They started my build on 3/31 but the estimated completion date is 4/19. That's almost 3 weeks... I wondering if it's being dragged out because they're still waiting for the boot cover? At least they moved my production up by 2 weeks, but I guess it doesn't mean much if they're still not going to finish it till sometime in Week 16.

For example, a dealer might get allocation for the M240 every other month, if they're small. A larger dealer might get 2 or 3 every month. It depends on what they've sold in the past and how much capacity BMW AG has.

Toscana is pulling into Halifax now so hopefully no more delays. ETA in NYC early on 4/10. Doubtful I'll be able to pick up by Easter weekend but probably the 17th or 18th. Getting close though!

Was there a storm or something causing the delay?

The Tongala was just ahead of the Toscana and it was delayed by five days, so it was probably weather related. Docked in Newark Tuesday , cleared customs and was released Wednesday morning. On a whim I decided to swing into my dealership on the way home from work tonight and it's on the lot. Still has all the wrappings, strut pucks, tow hook plugs are off, etc. That was quick, especially since it had to have the black kidneys installed at the port. Hoping to pick up Tuesday.

Thanks! Looks like mid 70's Monday and Tuesday. Considering we got over three feet of snow on March 14th, we're in decent shape. I'm still cutting it close with the Michelin PSS. I wanted to time it so I wouldn't have to worry about snow tires until November.

Heck, probably by Friday then! I just called my CA and it looks like I'll be picking up on Tuesday. Just gotta stop at the credit union Monday and pick up the check, and then hit my bank for a certified check for my down payment.

Order Time Line
My order timeline-
03/08/2017: Order placed - Dealer did not have allocation 03/17/2017: Order placed Status 111 - Dealer did an allocation trade with another dealership 03/31/2017: Order went into Production (status 150) - As of 04/08 car has not actually started production. 04/19/2017: Estimated Production completion date. FYI: If you place an order and get an estimated BUILD Week, that week is the estimated BUILD COMPLETION week, NOT the Start week. I say this because until your order goes into Status 150 (production), you can make changes to your order. My estimated build week was 16. I didn't expect it to go into production till 4/17, but if they moved it up, I thought week 15. Well, to my surprise when I went to add an option, it had already gone into production status 150.... Because again, Estimated BUILD WEEK is actually Estimated Build COMPLETION week. I was wondering how my car was going to be built in a few days when everyone was saying 1 to 2 weeks. Now it makes sense. Last edited by crabu2; 04-08-2017 at 12:57 PM.. |

Tracking off the Wallenius site, I arrived at port today and also "cleared customs" and have "liner release" as of 4 pm. Can't find out exactly what that means it seems nobody knows but it sounds good!

If you're extra nice, being it's a sold order, it might make it to your dealership tomorrow.
